The store, in general, has a good variety of stock at reasonable prices. Some of the staff are helpful and friendly, particularly those on the shop floor. I've always been treated with civility and a genuinely helpful attitude.
A word of caution, though, should you approach the gaggle of crones that gather by the self-service tills. There was a discarded gift card at the till that I intended to use and decided to hand it to a member of staff. As I approached one of the members of staff, with the gift card in hand, I was told immediately and with a hint of venom, that "I would just have to wait". I did, in fact, have to do nothing and didn't bother to try to engage with her again. I was, simply, trying to help and not deserving of her vitriol. She was slim and probably in her fifties, with dyed black hair and wearing a red jumper. I have had a similarly unpleasant experience with another of the coven, some months earlier.
I was helped by a younger, male member of staff (on my latest visit) when the till was misbehaving. He tried to justify her behaviour with the fact that they were very busy. They were very busy (it was New Year's eve), as I was on Boxing day, in a customer facing role. However, I didn't let that fact impair my capacity to be civil and polite to all of the customers that I served.
In short, shop good, most staff helpful and an aura of malevolence by the self-service tills. Good luck to all who venture within.

Went to Asda today to do a little shopping we wanted a pizza made stood around waiting asked member of staff if there was anyone about to make a pizza to be told on lunch break so wandered round shop came back still no staff no sign saying gone to lunch then another member of staff told us this was closed so had to purchase a pizza which was already made but not with what we wanted. A simple sign to say it was closed would have been nice instead of hanging around for over 45mins then left shop not happy with service

I would no stars if I could!!! Horrible place

I and my mum come to do Christmas shopping. My mum bought wine and other stuff while she was packing away her items. She asks me to pay with her card. No issue!

But then I was paying for my items as I had alcoholic chocolates with my stuff and she asked me for ID (After I just paid for my mum's wine) I questioned her about this. “She wanted my ID she should have asked for it while I was paying for my wine, so why are you asking for it now?”

I had no issue giving her my ID and I did. But when I questioned her about it why was she now asking for ID for chocolates and alcohol when I just paid for wine? She gave me attitude about it, she was very rude and should be trained better. I even told another staff member and that staff member didn’t seem to care at all. I snapped “What if I was a secret shopper or something and her attitude was terrible” That was when her whole personality changed saying she would tell someone about it.

Now I remember why I don’t shop at Asda anymore because of people like them!!!

Very disappointed with their service. I was there on Wednesday 15th January 2025 at about 3.30pm when I came to the checkout. Only 1 checkout was operating and there was 6 people with full trolleys in line. Thus I had to go to the self service checkout. I am disabled and use a walking stick, I can not stand long on my legs as I'm in acute pain all the time, even while on strong pain killers. The ladies at the self service checkout seen my situation and when I asked why only one checkout operating I was told they short staffed. They seen I could not walk or stand yet no assistance offered. Had I not needed the things in my trolley I would have walked out. It took me over 20 min to scan and bag my things while leaning on the counter , still no help offered.
Why is no assistance offered to disabled customers. Why was the staff so inconsiderate to disabled people, worst customer service foe a retail store. Don't think I will use them again. They made me feel so hopeless and violated my dignity with been judged by other customers on my posture leaning on the counter and trolley to scan my purchases.
Shame on you Asda

I was 25 years old when i entered Asda Drayton Rd. After being served by ROBERT i was 65 years old. Bless him i know hes old BUT too old to be on a till. Having a long conversation about frozen peas is not advisable when you have a ten mile queue at his till

Came on Sunday early afternoon (2pm) and most shelves were empty! Quite crowded at that time. I didn't need much so raced around the store, grabbing a few things. Got a large 6 pint milk, paid at self-checkout and left it there. I didn't notice until I got home. Dopey staff on the self-checkout tills clearly didn't notice either! I do wonder what happened to it!
McDonald's is always very popular here, can take your trolley inside but if there's there's queue, best to order and then put your shopping in the car!
Would say their newspapers are un thr wrong place as I only noticed them as I was walking out.

Had a very negative experience here due to an aggressive staff member on the night of 14/09. My autistic daughter was using the self checkout independently buying herself snacks when a colleague came over and started accusing her of using it inaccurately and ‘stealing’. This was an old man in his 60s, grey and balding, who seemed to have a power trip over young girls. She was devastated and I had to console her panic attack over that incident. Do better!
