We live about 20 minutes away, but often pass by The Crossways Inn on our way to Burnham or Weston. Some friends of ours mentioned it was great food there, as they’d been recently. So, we booked up and all went.||They were right, the food was AMAZING. I had the 10oz Sirloin (done medium rare). Very good price and superbly cooked. The chips were proper chips, not from a frozen bag. Absolutely perfect.||My wife had Lamb Kofta and our friends had the New York Chicken New Yorker which they all said was delicious.||We went on a Thursday evening. There was loads of atmosphere, but it wasn’t heaving, though the restaurant filled up over the next few hours. You didn’t have to wait long at the bar to order drinks, the staff were all genuinely friendly, and very efficient.||This 17th century Coaching Inn is a great stop off point if you’re on a long journey. It’s got loads of olde world charm. It’s family run, and the food is top notch. Loads of parking available.||I see also that they are Somerset CAMRA Pub o the Year 2024 also. Well done.||As we live close by we didn’t stay, just ate at the restaurant.||Highly recommended.

Went for a meal recently we have been several times before. The food is always very tasty. However, I must say we would disappointed at the lack of meat within the pie’s My husband and I both had a different pie he had steak. I had chicken and leek. It won’t stop us going back as we really like the selection of our And as stated before the food is always lovely. I appreciate things are expensive, However, the locally sourced pynes meat Is one of the reasons that we go there.

This an old coaching house, and very much village pub. It is holder of a number of real ale awards.
It has a friendly atmosphere and is dog friendly.

Very comfortable and very well appointed room. Plenty of tea/coffee and biscuits and the best TV we have ever encountered in a hotel. It had Smart features and Amazon Prime, Netflix etc. Lovely shower room with quality toiletries. The staff were friendly and helpful. Do ring and book a table if you want to eat though. We didn't and nearly did not get an excellent dinner. Fortunately, though they were fully booked, they squeezed us in at 6pm. The food is very obviously home cooked and all the better for it. Hubby really enjoyed his liver and bacon and I had a very good steak and ale pie in the friendly bar/restaurant. If you are a beer lover there is a wide selection of real ales and lagers. Breakfast next morning was plentiful and included in the price. (One niggle - sausage was very bland - but that really is nitpicking about a very very all round enjoyable experience) Oh and there is plentiful parking on-site.

This is the third time we`ve stayed at the Crossways, breaking our journey on our way from the North to Cornwall.||To be honest, it was a bit of a mixed bag.||Every time we stay, we always stay in the family room, which for the money is one of the best family rooms I`ve ever stayed in anywhere. It`d been re decorated again, since we stayed last year and they`d added a walk in shower, to the already massive modern bathroom.||The room really is fantastic, super modern, comfy, finished to a very high standard, inc all the bedding, toiletries, with a massive flat screen tv and lots of tea / coffees / hot chocolate.||The only downside to the room, is that the room is adjacent to the busy main road at the front of the pub, so there`s a bit of road noise, which starts early with it being a rural area ( not the fault of the pub )||We had an evening meal as a family and this wasn`t great. We`ve previously eaten every time we`ve stayed and the food and service has always been spot on. I`m not sure what happened this time, as the staff didn`t seem very happy about something, which affected the service.||Everything took an absolute age, from waiting to have our orders to be taken, to getting our food.||We didn`t order anything fancy, chilli, chicken kebab and a kids meal, but it took nearly an hour from ordering to getting it and everyone else around us had the same problem too.||The food, when it came was " okay ", not as good as the last times we`ve stayed, just nothing special.||We had a good nights sleep and everything clicked into gear again during breakfast, as the lady who looked after everyone really was lovely and super friendly, even remembering us from last year !||The breakfasts are superb, with a massive choice of everything you could possibly want.||All in all a bit of a mixed bag, but I,m putting the dining experience down to a one off, as everything else was pretty much faultless.
