The chip wagon comes to the village hall every Wednesday, the food is cooked while you wait and is reasonably priced. The owners Pete and Teri are also really friendly.

Good size village hall with seperate bar and kitchen area and stage. Place was nice and clean and set in scenic grounds for photo taking. Overall we had a good successful event here. Nice place.

I had a wedding party at the venue on 9th July with around 40 guests from across the UK and local area.

On Sunday 10/7/22 I received two complaints from guests.

The first complaint was from a woman whose boyfriend caused considerable problems at the event.

She states that the bar staff (that was one person) continued to serve him alcohol to the point he could not stand, after repeatedly asking the bar staff to cease serving him the staff continued to do so, in this case the venue acted totally inappropriately by not stopping this man from getting so drunk that he didn't know where he was.

This also begged the question of what would have happened if a fight had broken out and the implications of one of my guests getting injured.

I have asked the venue for a copy of their alcohol licence/public liability and all communication has been ignored.

I also asked for evidence of a first aid certificate from the venue but that has also been ignored.

The second complaint is from a Mother who attended the party, She states that her underage daughter was continually served alcohol, the venue should have asked for ID before serving alcohol to a child.

I also had some very negative feedback that the bar staff were charging different amounts of money for drinks, sometimes charging different people up to £1 more per drink and although I'm unsure of the validity of this information , I believe the venue staff should have made prices visible so my guests didn't feel that they had been taken advantage of.

After Going to a Friend's Wedding here on the 9th of July, disgusted my underage daughter was served alcohol,( not by my Knowledge) and then persisted to keep the £50 deposit of my Friend as the Tables were not stacked properly 🤬... Sort yourself out and stop keeping people's money over pathetic things 🤬?!!!!!!
