I would like to thank everyone at Mottram Wood Hattersley for a great Christmas Day.

This is our third year eating up there at Christmas. From myself and my family stepping into the pub Yvonne, Jessica and Kendall couldn’t do enough for us. Unfortunately my grandparents were booked on but with recent events they are now both house bound so we asked if we could get there meals boxed up so we could deliver them. This was done straight away and they both had a beautiful meal and were really happy.

Our experience in the pub was really nice the decorations and tables were all displayed beautifully, our starters were really nice and as for the carvery this was delicious the turkey just melted in your mouth and the potatoes and veg were all cooked beautifully. Also my 11 year old and 3 year old had a great time in the wacky and also enjoyed the food the pigs in blankets were a great hit. The staff just couldn't do enough for us. I would like to say thank you so much we had a really great day.

Previous comments on waiting time. Obviously we had to wait it was busy but we expected that and enjoyed talking to my family instead of being rushed out.

Food is well priced for adequate quantity and quality. It's OK, but that's as good as it gets. Chicken and bacon salad because it's cheaper and quicker than making a Ceasar. The carvery looked good but we didn't have that.

Hot chocolate and mocha were weak as dishwater.

The faffing about with the app isn't really useful and detracts from the atmosphere.

Pass here quite often but never had a chance to stop in until yesterday. Had a wonderful mix grill which I highly recommend and the chocolate fudge cake. Great food and the service was very good. Very attentive waitress. Highly recommended.

We had a lovely meal, last week. Staff were so friendly and eager to please. We had two small children with us and nothing was too much trouble. Paul on the carvery helped us with the children, was really chatty and so polite and eaer to please. Thank you Paul. You were a life saver xxx

After a bit of a mix up over the Breakfast with Santa, that we booked online early in November, the whole family really had a lovely time . The staff were all helpful, down to earth and friendly..couldn't do enough for us. The food was fab, a really good selection, anything that you wanted from a full cooked breakfast to pancakes,crossaints, juices etc..
Santa and his elves worked extremely hard to provide a seasonal treat for the children and after that we hit the wacky warehouse...
Can't find fault with anything, staff were all spreading good cheer, dressed up as elves etc, and took time in their extremely busy day to stop and chat.Merry Christmas and many thanks..

I pass the Mottram Wood quite frequently and I’ve never popped in so I decided to give it a go. As I parked up I saw it was part of the Greene King chain of pubs. I am a regular at The Ball in Sheffield so I knew I’d be getting a meal of the highest quality.

The lady behind the till was very friendly indeed.

I ordered the Tex Mex Loaded chips. I am very partial to Mexican food! Those chips were freshly cooked and were super crisp. I loved the corn as well. That sauce was absolutely delicious as well. Those kidney beans were absolutely delicious as well.

I actually felt as if I was in Mexico! I am going to make a point of popping in there more frequently as I pass the place on my travels.

So the usual questions.

Is it worth the money? Good value at 3 times the price.
Would I go there again? Absolutely.
Would I recommend them to anyone else? Please be assured that if you see a Greene King pub anywhere in the country you can be assured of first class quality food, wonderful service, a great atmosphere and a top quality crowd.

What are you waiting for? Go and try those Tex Mex Chips!

Passing by and thought we would give this place a go and so glad we did food was good, a few mistakes but staff sorted any issues out so thank you.
Jolly guy serving the carvery (blind as a bat as he said) you where amazing wish there was more servers like you, greeted everyone in such a positive manner actually made my day brighter as we were having a bad day didn’t catch your name but thank you.
Very clean and welcoming with decent food will definitely be coming back.

Food was average but better was washing up tonight 😂 asked for the steak medium and got medium rare 🤷🏼‍♀️ rest of the food was alright though. Amazing service from Liam who was attentive and friendly, and provided service with a smile. Thankyou Liam 🙂
