Had a great experience two years ago with boot sales and fitting for my wife and I. Had a problem (my problem) with one of my boots recently and they've honoured their boot fit guarantee and sorted me out same day. Widened my boot and re configured my foot bed. Excellent service. Nice to find in this day and age. Well done guys. Worth the 4 hour round trip! Highly recommend.

Booked a boot fit appointment. Fraser tried a number of boot options on me. Discussed the options and settled on a pair of Atomic Hawx. A few tweaks and the boots feel really good. Yet to try them in action, but feel really positive.
So pleased with the service, another appointment was made to have my wife's boots checked for fit. A few tweaks to soften the flex, and another happy customer.

If your looking for new boots or any modifications to your current ski boots Glide 'n' Slide is THE place to go. You don't get the same service buying in a resort, from my experiences.

Ally, Frazer and Tom are the most exceptional boot fitters. My daughter and I have had a few issues with boots and these guys have gone out of their way to make sure the fit was right. I would never go anywhere else for ski boots. It is certainly worth the 130 mile round trip.

I have skied for over 20 years and have always brought skis and boots off the shelf never having boots custom fitted. I was sceptical at the need for a fitting and custom insoles but decided to treat myself. The guys in store listened to my requirements and helped me select the best deal for my budget (Head Absolut Joy skis and Atomic boots). They talked me through the whole fitting process giving tips for best use and aftercare of the boots too. The process took around an hour. I left the store happy with my purchases with boots a size smaller than I had usually bought and new, fully serviced skis. I hit the slopes in January and have to say I was delighted. I was amazed at how different the boots felt, so comfortable, and along with the skis they made turning effortless and reduce knee ache and leg fatigue – we ski miles every day on reds and blacks – the skis were an Absolut Joy and the complete service i had received in store definitely put the Glide and Slide into my holiday!

Very pleased. Took some c.20 year old skis to be serviced and have the bindings checked over. Had previously taken them to Ellis Brigham at Castleford where some cheeky cocky oik just laughed and turned me away saying no point sharpening the edges as I wouldn't notice the difference, but Glide & Slide happily took them in, did the job well and on a quicker turnaround than they themselves first estimated, and also did some sort of safety check of the bindings, which no other ski shop seems to bother to do. Must admit I did feel a teeny bit uneasy at times talking to them in person as I found I wasn't quite on the same wavelength somehow but I used the skis over New Year 24/25, and was certainly very pleased and will make a beeline back to the shop for future needs.

Can’t recommend this company for boot fitting highly enough. Ally has gone above and beyond in trying to fit my very awkward legs and feet with some ski boots. He has been extremely professional and patient at all times. Highly recommended shop selling everything you could wish for to do with skiing.
