We were here for the Flying Axe company axe throwing, but the Kanteena bar staff were kind enough to let us have a drink while they were still setting up. The beer was good and the atmosphere was, as always, relaxed and friendly. Loads of seating, and, at the right time, some interesting and tasty options for food. (Thai, BBQ, some other things I don't remember!)

I love this place. Really cool venue for chilled drinks in their fab outside space and an excellent and varied musical lineup. The food that I've had there has been delicious and comes in very generous portions. . . . . . The burgers are great.

We were at a gig last night and this place is a proper vibe versus other music venues! Their listings boast some awesome household names on the bill too.
The outdoor area especially is a gem, colourful, vibrant and catches the sun with some fantastic food available a la pop up.
Inside there’s a massive live room and the lights are on the place has mad decor throughout and is just pleasing on the eye, wholly unpretentiously. Big up the staff as well, all gems.

Lancaster, you’ve got a proper spot here.

What a great venue for a gig. We went to watch the ZUTONS here
Situated in what looks like an old trading yard. It's got a funky Carribbean vibe with a great outdoor area for some fantastic street food and seating. A few indoor booths for keeping the rain off. A tidy venue for live music and I hope it keeps getting well supported to keep live music alive.
Beer was priced fairly with reds stripe at £5 a pint.
The staff were really friendly. The bouncers could do with some improvement they came across as arrogant and a little aggressive.
If you don't expect the Ritz and expect a funky friendly Carribbean live music and street food venue then you won't go wrong.

Balearic Burger have now held two brilliant events at Kanteena this year. A great venue to work with. A great crowd too. We are very excited to return next summer. Keep up the good work guys xx

Played a show at this great rock venue on 11/02/23 and were made very welcome by Pablo & the team and the fantastic Lancaster audience. Sound engineer Glenn from IAV did an excellent job getting the show set up - we look forward to coming back soon!

DO NOT EAT HERE, the owner regularly uses out of date beef and products to save money. He also refuses to pay his staff. The food is sub-par when it isn't brown and stinking. For your own health do not go here

FANTASTIC old school ramshackle vibes, as soon as you walk in you feel like you're going to have a nice time, especially with such friendly staff. The food was great (I had the burger with Brie and BOYYYYY did it filll the yearning gap!), the music and sound excellent both outside and in, and there are lots of nice little hangout nooks (e.g. the sofas in the bit between inside and out were great for a drunken chat at the night event). In the iconic words of the famous killer cyborg from the future "I'll be back" !
