Walked in with a few parcels and cards in hand a few days ago. A middle aged person from behind the screens over the one stop counter barked at me, in front of people queing, "POST OFFICE IS CLOSED". I looked at the board which shows the opening times and pointed out it should be open for a another few hours (my arrival time being 1500), a short pause ensued before another bark came "THERE'S A SYSTEM GLITCH" which sounded more like a standard excuse than the actual truth (which knowing that particular one stop/post office is lack of staff or staff that are trained or willing). So I left, went to the next nearest PO and was greeted with helpful staff and no system glitch. In short, Buckden Post Office is, and always has been, hit and miss. If you want helpful and friendly staff and to know its open when it should be, go elsewhere.
