I did a 23 mile walk from Horton-in-Ribblesdale to Kettlewell on a spectacularly roasting hot day. 1.8l water enough to get me to Kettlewell but I needed more fluid and salt. So I injected the price of 2 x bags of crisps and 2 x sparkling waters into the local economy. Would be catching a bus back to Skipton. The chap at the counter very helpful in telling me the route the bus would take. Tbh eyes only really on the water and crisps so I couldn't be sure what else was on sale. Definitely did the trick for me.

Strange store really..not your usual traditional village shop.
More of a craft shop really..wool..colouring items..ect.
Small section with washing up liquid..and so on.

Great stop for lunch and supplies while walking the Dales Way. The owner was very friendly and helpful and the food and drinks were very reasonably priced.

Great little village shop, very friendly service and a great selection of items for residents and visitors. Lots of sweet treats to keep you going if you're passing through hiking or biking. Sorry we cleared you out of water!

An absolute lifeline for village residents and holiday makers alike, the Village Store is family run and stocked with everyday essentials, drinks and snacks, as well as more gourmet treats that showcase some of the best local food producers.

They sell a range of greetings cards and gifts, as well as items from the craft shop downstairs, Giggle Squiggle, making it easy to stock up on things to keep the kids entertained on a rainy day, as well as supplies for more serious crafters.

Service is friendly and helpful, and there is even a DPD drop-off/collection point. Highly recommended 🙂

Stopped here while on a bike ride yesterday, (hottest day ever in the UK). Was going to buy something and decided to ask for a refill of tap water for my water bottles as I was in there. I Could clearly see a skink a couple of meters behind the counter but was refused any water. The owner was incredibly rude and showed absolutely no sympathy towards my situation at all. In nearly 40 degree heat and in a very remote part of the country I was quite shocked at his response. Bearing in mind I am also under 18 and was on my own at the time.

Me and my son were on the way to The Forbidden Corner. Unfortunately on our way, my car hit a rock and ended up with punctured tyre. No signal in the village. Kettle village store owner, Simon, had kindly let me use the Wi-Fi. I was then able to make phone calls . He also let us wait in his shop for the recovery service.
