Visited for the day as I had the rare opportunity to sail into work. Club members very friendly and accommodating, but be warned that the site is very high security and if you want to visit by boat you'll need to arrange how to get through the gates if you want to leave the site. I contacted them through the email on their website.

Tidal flow is fast across the moorings, which are swinging, which made rowing to the outer ones good exercise. I arrived at low water springs and their ramp was still easy to access with a dingy. Tide rises fast up the ramp - I tied up and left my dinghy for 5 minutes, then had to wade to recover it.

joined as a member in early 2010 shortly after the new club house was built just to get sailing again as i used to sail lots when i was young at danson. i thought i would only ever have a dinghy. now on my 3rd yacht ownership. Great facilities and people. plenty of dinghys to hire, usually a yacht to crew on if you ask about. best time to visit if your are wondering about joining is wed all day, sundays all day aor friday from 7pm when the bar is open and most people are around.

To be fair I only walk my dog out this way. It’s about a 2.5 mile round trip out to the flood defence and back. Lovely in the summer. The downside is that there are occasionally kids on mopeds riding nearby. Make sure your car is secured as they took my bag out of my car and did a runner.
