Appalling after-sales experience after finding that my new carpet was full of tufts sticking up. I’ve faced a litany of broken promises and missed appointments since the carpet was ordered. I keep calling into the shop, am promised a resolution which never happens, and have to keep chasing it up. Now over a month since the carpet was fitted (delayed, after the salesperson Jacky “forgot” to order the carpet - a saga in and of itself), and I’ll now have to go back in and yet again plead for action. I doubt it’ll do me any good though - you seemingly can’t embarrass Jacky. I tried supporting a local business by going here; big mistake. Today I’ve stayed in the house all afternoon, as arranged, having been promised that my carpet would have the tufts professionally removed; no-show by Kirkland, and no phone call either - this didn’t surprise me, as it is true to form. Would have given a zero stars rating if this had been possible.

Edit: a month later, after attempts to fix the carpet eventually failed, followed by the fitting of a second carpet that was actually worse, I had to resort to asking for a refund. Small holes in the first carpet were replicated as even larger holes in the second one - all round the edges, where the stretchers had pulled the carpet onto the gripper rods, as if this was breaking the backing up. They refunded the money for the carpet, but not the fitting. I was promised the money for fitting would be paid to me when they took the (second) defective carpet away. More broken promises, with another no-show, and so no fitting money returned. Had to resort yet again to going into the shop and reading them the Riot Act. No apologies. Jacky had been off apparently, so Alastair hadn’t got the message about calling out again to collect the carpet. Post-it-Notes are seemingly unobtainable in Cleator Moor then ….

I’d hate to total up the hours I’ve spent on the phone, in the shop, in emails, and in just waiting around over this. It was a brand new carpet, in an empty room. How can it possibly be this difficult? How can handling a customer with a genuine issue (a brand new carpet coming apart before furniture has even been put in the room) have been dealt with so badly?

Just had a bedroom carpet fitted by this company, i also bought a mattress at same time..carpet looks beautiful.. we were ready for the mattress a day sooner..after a quick call to jackie (lovely lady) mattress waa delivered to my bedroom within half an hour..dont get that service off the big companys..thanx guys x
