Like most places these days, products are in short supply or the shelves are not up to date.
But the staff are always helpful and pleasant

Just had a roast pork dinner in the co-op cafe. The food was excellent, very enjoyable, but if I was to find one fault, the plates could do with being a little larger, as the food, was a little squashed

First the positive, the ordinary shop floor and cafe staff are generally friendly and helpful. The management seem to dedicate their life to discouraging customers and making life harder for elderly and disabled customers. Many local people use the co-op despite it being expensive because it used to be convenient. In the past there have been managers with obsessions about trying to stop customers using the toilets, they still shut them in the evening. The customer wheelchair never has foot rests on it. Now they have refitted the shop so the shelves are stupidly high, and the layout forces everyone to walk the full length of every aisle to get what they want. Drinks are in horrible high fridges with doors on that are hard to open and reach the contents. The quick serve counter/customer services/tobacco counter has been moved so the queue blocks access to the vegetable and meat aisle, because those tills are so slow people tend to not move in case they lose their place making it even harder for elderly or disabled people. Sutton bridge has a smaller but much more usable co-op, if you have a car go there instead!

Shop is expensive at times, can get surprised if you don’t check. However the cafe staff and food is brilliant value and great healthy food. Great thing for people that live alone. Always get a good meal if you don’t fancy cooking. Cafe gets5 stars.

We've been here three times and the food in the cafe is excellent especially as they do smaller portions. The only downside is the toilets where you have to put in a code which makes it difficult for my disabled friend to reach so I have to help. The cafe and store is lovely and clean.

Went in to buy food, didn't realise till later that day that they are out of date, they had not been reduced or even took off display. So paid full price for it to be thrown out hours later. ( cheese, donuts and a cake) other items are okay.

Very very expensive- often twice the price for an item compared to other shops. They charge you to use the bathroom and that requires a 10p coin which you have to obtain.
The queues are world record breaking , which is surprising considering that staff often outnumber customers.
