I have just purchased a sausage roll from here. Like many other places I’ve been in the world Hands down this sausage roll is the Don of sausage rolls. The scale of it the ratio of meat to pastry. It’s the size of a beer wellington. It taste so juicy and the sausage meat quality is fantastic seasoned very well , I am from Lancashire I know a lot about sausage rolls. Cornish pastry and baking. YOU NEED TO Visit THIS STORE PURELY FOR THE SAUSAGE ROLL. £2.50 is a bargain !! for sheer excellence. If there was any awards based on a sausage roll this wins every year. I’m deadly serious. I’m a chef I can make sausage rolls etc. they have it bang on in this exquisite bakery. (you tell I am satisfied with it I’m so happy. I’ve just eaten the greatest ever sausage roll on the planet.

Benneys is awesome! Their pasties (meat and cheese and onion) were the best, and really a great price.

In addition the service was warm and friendly.

Benneys stock a really wide range of fruit and vegetables which is always the best quality and the bread is very good. Always a nice welcome when you shop there.
We’re not massive meat eaters but the shop has a good range of meat and fish and the homemade steak and chicken pies are packed full, one pie can feed a whole family.
It’s handy to be able to pre-order whatever you need too.
Mike stocks local produce and Benneys are always very generous in supporting local fundraisers anyway they can.
I’ll never forget Mike immediately offering to help us feed over 300 people at the Coronation street party, he supplied produce from the shop at no cost because he wanted to support the community event. A lovely local shop and such a hardworking, kind man.

Lovely bloke (and also the rest of his staff), unfortunately I can only visit the shop for two weeks of the year but I make the most while I can!
Bread rolls are fantastic, huge and you nearly have to dislocate your jaw to have a picnic sarnie (but there's ways round that!) loaves are available but you need to be quick they don't hang around for long, plus there's a good selection of meats/veg/groceries and also sweet treats if you manage to miss out on the bread!

This is not just a butchers shop.
Mike, Debbie and Kal work really hard to try and cover the things that say, the local supermarket, can't get because they don't have to freedom to cater for individual customers

They make their own bread and rolls fresh every morning. You can pre order to avoid disappointment. Infact it's a good idea to pre order full stop, as some of the more popular lines go very quickly. Like the "Benny's" Pasties for instance. With the love and care he puts into those Oggys they don't hang around for long.

They also host a very interactive page, so if you have any queries they WILL 100% get back to you and try their very best to meet your requirements.
Definitely worth a visit

Terrific to have an alternative in town. We bought fish from here last time we were on The islands, delicious and far superior to the co-op offerings. Will definitely check here first for my shopping next time. Nice to have a friendly welcome too!!!!

Very good selection of pasty's and fruit and veg that you can take as much or as little as you like - great staff and location and were near the quay but hidden away but all little gems are and when when you find them you use them more than once - great place that I used whilst I was on holiday

Mike has a great selection of meat, fish, fruits veg, Milk, wine, frozen and delicious fresh baked bread. 100% worth a visit, he and his team are great, his shop is fab, really worth a visit!
