I've always been a regular customer at Spar, until I was insulted by a staff member. I bought a chocolate donut, but my card was declined. The cashier then shouted at me, telling me to leave and that he wouldn't sell to me. I informed him I had a second card and even decided to buy more items, but he persisted and made racist comments towards me. I requested to speak to the manager from another staff member, but none of them responded.

By the look of the other comment The store remains racist. Had the most traumatic experience with the store staff including managers where I was racially profiled and assaulted.accused me of taking something then back tracked. Why would I literally go into a store literally wearing my nursing work uniform to steal something? And placing hands on me and harassing me with all male staff and their grubby hands with no female chaperone or in sight. Absolutely atrocious. Disgusting.

The manager in this place is beyond rude made me walk all around the shop when the item was behind the till. Then accused me of lying saying I said something which I never did very rude customer service! The manger defo needs some lesson in customer service

Felt quite uncomfortable with their service. The man behind the counter started serving me and then decided to pass me onto to his colleague for no reason other than I believe he saw my nail varnish (I'm a gay man) and didn't want to serve me. My friends saw what happened and felt the same way. If you work in a public shop, regardless of religion, you serve everyone

The manger or one of the store workers watched a random lass spit on my face twice outside the building and said. / did nothing until she left! I was leaving greggs and while this wasn’t a spar specific issue left the building to watching the whole criminal offence unfold and then went back in. If the worker felt the right to leave to witness it all then at least should have had the morals to at least make sure I was okay / mention they had footage of the outside area before she went back in. I also work hospitality so I understand that an event outside the building isn’t yours to deal with but the second she stood outside the door to watch the crime unfold TWICE then she’s an accomplice by being silent. Don’t trust the staff there, only care for drama and not the victims!

Went in to get some washing gels, did not find any, as I was about to leave I was stopped at the door and asked to open my bag, I asked for an explanation as this is a strange request, I was told if i didn't buy anything they need to check my bag, I would have obliged but other people who had bags on did not get searched. When did it become a crime to not buy things in a store, especially when they do not have what you came to buy? I go to a lot of stores across the uk and I almost never walk without my bag and not once have I ever been stopped or "interrogated". This experience has really messed with my head and I can't stop thinking I was stopped because of my race. I'd choose to die than to spend my hard earned money in any spar store.
