Excellent friendly and helpful staff. Some items were at a decent price - but many not as cheap as at larger supermarkets. But it's good location, easy access and short queues made up for that. Hot food recommended.

Most of the staff are friendly. But the one that works on Sunday afternoons with glasses. He is rude and obviously doesn’t want to be working, you can tell the way he speaks to you and other customers.

Update 21 December 2023
I was passing the Co-op and saw a Big Issue seller standing in the howling wind. I didn't want the magazine, but popped into the Co-op and asked the sales assistant to change a £10 note for a £5 note(s) for the Big Issue seller. He refused, but said if I bought something, he would give me £5 in the change. I couldn't believe what I was hearing; I left, slightly dazed. I went home, found a £5 note, went back and gave it to the seller.

Ridiculously expensive and very smelly. Not a pleasant shopping experience. The car park is a death trap for pedestrians.

This is a badly run establishment. Hoylake has a good cross section of affluent and working people and the Co Op has the advantage over Sainsburys of a totally superior wine offering. Hoylake co-op makes no attempt to boost profits/ sales however by offering the full range; indeed the staff appear surprised that people ask whether they stock own brand Champagne when they have failed to replenish the shelves.
This is unimpressive and the failure of management

Aisles are bit to narrow, especially as my wife found out if you are trying to open fridge door and someone is trying to get past you. (Prams and wheelchairs got no chance) staff still the same from previous old Co-op, very helpful and courteous.

This Co-op says its opening times are 7am-10pm but more often that not their doors are still closed at 8am. I'm not sure if this is due staff sleeping in or shortage of staff. But very frustrating that you never actually know when they are going to open the doors.
