I’ve lived in Howden for 4 months and Hop Cavern is definitely one of the highlights of town.! Great beer selection , a warm atmosphere and a cracking garden at the rear. Please ignore the 1 star review, this was written by a friend without my knowledge and is not reflective of a great venue.

Awesome little bar in the centre of Howden. Great craft beer selection, including non alcoholic options. Lee is very knowledgeable and always happy to help... and he's funny (ha ha... not odd) Cheers!

Friendly owner, great choice of beers from all the top craft breweries to either take out or enjoy in the shop or the little courtyard out back, looking out onto the minster.

Disappointed. As a speciality beer shop I had assumed they would have some knowledge of the beers they had on offer. When I asked for some information on what beers I might enjoy the barman stated "I'm not drinking right now". He seemed very resentful that I made him come from behind the till to get some support on what beer I might like. AVOID!

First time at Hop Cavern yesterday and thoroughly impressed with the vast selection of drinks available.A very friendly and welcoming atmosphere,spent an enjoyable couple of hours in the sunny courtyard to the rear.Would definitely recommend it if you’re in Howden.

Popped in today and met Lee. What a superb little venue. Excellent range of bottles and cans and a couple of draught keg products available.
