Not great if you are a beginner the staff are friendly enough but limited in advice they seem to provide. I ended up spending a lot on what turned out to be the wrong tools and material for what I needed. Would have been better going straight to Amazon and using you tube which is where I’ve ended up getting stuff. In other craft stores I’ve visited staff would be able to advice best and cost effective choices for a beginner - maybe I’m expecting too much but that’s been my previous experience and I found it a waste of time and money. However I can see if you are a more experienced knitter or crafter then you would be great here as they have lots of choice

Just had THE BEST customer experience ever!
In Chester for a meeting, I popped in while passing. On a whim I decided to get materials for a roman blind project.
My husband texted the window measurements while a really helpful member of staff talked me through some useful hints and tips.
Unfortunately I had to rush off to my meeting, but when I returned to resume 4 hours later, a fully measured kit was waiting for me - rods, cords, tape, the lot! This meant I wasn’t rushing for my train. Thank you ❤️🙏

Excellent shop with extensive selection of fabric I’d been searching for a paisley for my daughter and was chuffed to find one her. The girl on the till was so friendly and chatty and interested in what you were doing encouraging us to bring pictures in of what we made, she does embroidery with a local group and is very knowledgeable. I highly recommend this store x

Chester branch NOT accessible friendly as stated.’. It is a little misleading as on Google and website it states that entry is accessible friendly, which I guess it is to a certain extent. (There is no step in and out of the store) But 99% of the store apart from the entrance is not. You either have to go up or down a steep sets of stairs. I had a pram, and didn’t want to leave my young baby in it alone while I shopped, so had to leave. Maybe ring and double check the other braches before going if you need accessibility.

The knitting yarn is mostly acrylic and acrylic wool blends or cotton so a bit difficult to find wool or other warm natural fibres, but maybe there was so much cotton because it was summer and in winter they might stock more wool.
Discount bin actually had the most pure wool selection though so it all worked out!

During my visit in Wales l was looking for a yarn shop en found it in Chester. This shop was for me a real gem. Great selection of yarn. İ could spend hours. İ will definitely come back to buy wool and other hobby materials.
