I’m so speechless as at how this place is run. I just moved to Luton and I was looking for Arsor chicken powder so decide to give this shop a trial today, the arsor chicken powder was £1:29 but was showing £1 at the till, instead of rectifying this mistake the lady(wunmi) who attended to me took out 5 of this chicken powder I picked and acted like she added it to my stuff and put this behind the till just because she doesn’t want me to buy it at that £1, Why can’t she explain and then rectify the price which I don’t mind, what happen to customers service. Mind you I came with taxi to and fro which cost me like 15pounds to come get this particular thing all for me to get home and not find it. As if that’s not enough, bought 1 carton of indomie and 6 was missing inside. I’m so angry with all of this and I don’t think I want to come back to this shop for anything again.
Note to the owner: train your staff to do better, been good and nice cost nothing!

Horrible customer service, one several occasions one of the young ladies had ear buds in her ear and was making her own personal conversation throughout with no regard for the queue. Yesterday one Lady with gold short hair was very unprofessional, Aramide is the name in the receipt. She rudely told me to put some items in the bag, after a while she again ordered I should go back and get the bag and put another item. I was surprised because I've shopped there severally and in other African shops. Mind you, no notice anywhere certain items were to be put in bags. She deliberately kept mentioning this one has to go in bag so I could be going back and forth uncomfortably, her behavior was very poor and no attempt to show you where the bags where or offer the bags. There was no element of request it was very rude. Abam foods give your workers training on customer service or get proper staff. I like to support black businesses but this shop your workers treat people with zero respect especially when you don't speak Yoruba, this is England if you want only Yoruba speaking people then put up the Notice rather than spoiling the image of Nigerians. My partner from the Carrabean was very annoyed at her behavior too. Only one elderly lady is the different one, all of the others I've met there are very rude. No matter how full your shop is, if you keep your customers like trash you will consume all your items yourself soon.

Both ladies at the till were very helpful, which I appreciated. However, the store itself feels overcrowded, with very little space in the aisles. The products are tightly packed, making it difficult to shop comfortably. The loud religious music was also quite off-putting – not everyone who shops here shares the same beliefs, and it can feel a bit overwhelming. While I respect everyone's right to religious freedom, the music was blaring to the point where it felt intrusive. Unfortunately, this made for an uncomfortable shopping experience, and I won’t be returning.

I find customer service lacking in Abam and I have lost patience going there. Most of the time I try to go as soon as they open on a weekday hoping to have a pain free shopping experience but even then I find myself waiting in the queue at the butchers for such a long time. I can be number 3 in the queue and it will still take a good 30-45 min before I am served. I'm not saying I expect them to rush but at least work like you want to! Often they will stop to go collect stock from the back, chat and basically take their own sweet time to serve you. When you get to the till there's another long wait and the ladies serving you basically don't even acknowledge you and continue speaking to their colleagues whilst serving you, I find this so rude. My visits to Abam have become less and less, the last time I went there I actually walked out due to the poor service. Having said that, I don't have an issue with the availability and quality of the food I buy from there. I do wish Abam would look into this and make improvements.
