The Afton Restaurant, within The Lochside Hotel, is a nicely decorated modern restaurant with a good atmosphere and beautiful views. There is a wide variety of choice on the menu which is a bit more expensive than average. Service was a bit patchy and slow to begin with but improved once the food started to arrive. The food in general was very good, however some of the meals had potatoes and vegetables that were not very warm. Also, the main courses were quite small. Overall though, a nice experience.

Had Halloumi fries and club sandwiches 😋 a wee note to say about the service the waitars are young bless them, they are trying their best but they are a bit confused one of the boys looks at us but didn't respond

The restaurant is located in a lovely setting, with great views of the loch. The food was very tasty, although the veg was a bit on the cold side. Quite expensive for the size of the portions you receive though.

Was staying at one of the lodges for my hen and decided since it was Friday night we would come out for dinner and drinks! What a terrible idea...

We had pre booked so they knew we were a hen party celebrating however the service and treatment we got was horrid and we weren’t expecting special..

The manager of the restuarant who was working Friday 30th was the one to serve us and with an attitude like that I have no idea why she is in a customer facing role. She was cold, unkind, judgy and actually audibly sighed when I decided to change my decision on what I was going to order a second after I’d said it.

Not just her but myself and my bridal party felt judged and were given cold service from everyone else working, from the person who served us our drinks to the person who served us our meals.

The food was bland and tasteless, drinks were watered down. No congratulations to myself. It was a hassle paying the bill. Everything was just dragged out. ( we were there for 2.5 hours and we only got one round of drinks and mains)

Every other person in the restuarant was white, but me and my bridal party were all mixed ethnicity so I wonder if that had anything to do with it.

Will never return and it ruined what was meant to be a fun night.

Lovely, serene atmosphere and stellar food. Unfortunately, you might be the victim of an unintentional hostage situation due to the apparently severe understaffing problem. Waited over half an hour AFTER getting the check and had to walk over, stand at the waiter's kiosk for another five minutes to flag someone down and beg them to let us pay our bill. Everyone was frazzled, seemed overworked and rather sharp/sour. I don't blame them!
