Since having a member of staff making xenophobic comments for no reason I haven't been back. I was super upset by the experience and immediately raised it with the complaints line. It was more upsetting having to explain to my son that when someone says bad, generalised things about foreigners, it's wrong- and have him ask "like papa?" It isn't the worst racism our family has faced here but it's the first time he's been aware that people treat us differently. I'd recommend avoiding this store if you don't want your kids exposed to these views either.

Sunday 12th January 2024.
Absolutely appalling service received in Asda today. The assistant that "served" me was argumentative, confrontational, obnoxious and just outright rude. I'll not elaborate further here as the complaint is lengthy. I will be raising this with head office in much greater detail as the Manager was gravely ineffective & just stood in silence whilst the staff member "kicked off". Suffice to say, I've never felt more compelled to walk away from my shopping, than I did today.
I usually get served by Kelly or the assistant with red, curly hair, each of whom give lovely service. Today's experience, and the Manager's lack of assertiveness and inability to manage staff who are aggressive, really does put me off shopping here again (despite being a regular, frequent shopper)!

Utterly disgusting bunch of racists running this shop. Staff making insulting comments about "the foreigners" in front of my two year old who's now repeating their words. Absolutely disgraceful, will never set foot in there again.

Self service checkout is supposed to be a convenience, however it’s an absolute nightmare at this store. Nobody bothers to pay attention to the lights. Such a waste of time.

Called in on a busy Saturday morning. Whilst i want to acknowledge the very helpful Staff i felt compelled to leave this review because of the absolutely awful checkout procedure. There is now only one manned till (which had no one working on it at 11am the day i visited). All other tills are self serve🙄 I had a 9 item shop. The till called for assistance 5 times!! How this is supposed to save time for the Customer and also help alleviate pressure on the Staff i have no idea....

I felt so sorry for the poor girl behind the kiosk counter today. The store was so busy with customers, self service playing up and no one was coming to help her. I know stock replenishment and making the store look presentable are important but the welfare of your staff is more important! Not a very good impression when there are queues and staff are fannying about. The 3 stars on here are for her.

Most depressing and lifeless supermarket I've ever visited. Didn't see any staff members at all during my visit.
For some people a visit to the shops is their only chance for conversion.
Not here.
Maybe this is the future. How sad.
I should also add until other supermarkets become as bad as this, I won't be visiting Asda again.
Please Asda don't bother with an insincere reply promising to pass my review on to the relevant department, I've heard all that rubbish before!

Ordered just eat from here as just out of hospital... An experience id doubt id repeat...how hard is it for a picker to collect a very items without getting it so wrong! Come on wake up!
