Disappointing at best is how to describe it. Shelves often so empty of the things you regularly need that you’d think it had been robbed the night before.
Usually just one member of staff on the self checkouts who doubles as a ‘bag lady’ and can’t keep up with the number of ‘red light’ tills.
Cigarette / Lottery kiosk that clearly doubles as the staff social club as often 3 staff in there, 1 on till, 2 stood around, all 3 gossiping oblivious to the queues building up.
It’s a shame as wasn’t always like this.

They have the most racist security team there, you can't shop without being intimidated & provoked if you're a black person. I have been trying to abide by what the security team is saying every time I shop there (they say I took something and stop me at the door and search me) but now I realise it was just my skin colour nothing else.
I pity the black guys who go through the same thing I do.

I have been going to this Asda for nearly 30 years. Never have I been made to feel more like a criminal in my life. The only thing it is missing is searchlights and a barbed wire surround.

The last couple years has saw this asda decline rapidly. Although some of the staff are lovely, especially at the tobacco kiosk, the rest act as if you are inconveniencing them by asking them for even a plastic bag. As if you're in the wrong for disturbing their loud gossiping.

The security staff all have a chip on their shoulder and clearly look down and disrespect everyone who even tries to speak to them, except from the lady with the glasses.

I know many of people who have decided to take their business elsewhere, and I'm more than tempted to follow. There's the impression that asda doesn't want you there, asda tolerates you. The cost cutting throughout the store is blatant. The lights are now extremely dim, and the store is constantly changing where everything is. The quality has nosedived recently, and in all honesty, so has the overall experience.

The crows that nest on the roof should be seen as an omen.

Asda doesn't really have any serious competition in Harpurhey, as the only real supermarket alternative is an uninspiring Lidl.

There are many excellent, hard working staff members in this Asda branch, whom go out of their way to help customers... and I guarantee that Harpurhey Shopping Precinct would be deserted without Asda, for people would travel to Middleton to do their shopping far more often.

There is an exceptionally hard working lady on the cigarette / customer services / lottery kiosk... and every time I go there this poor lady is doing three jobs alone, while some staff in this Asda make you feel like they are doing you a massive favour by serving you and do their level best to avoid serving customers.

Asda in Harpurhey ain't perfect, but it's a very good supermarket. 8.5/10

I just went shopping at Asda Harpurhey a few hours ago before school runs, I bought a nail varnish but I took the wrong colour I only realised it was the wrong colour when I got to the parking, I couldn’t return it that moment because I had to pick my kids up from school. I just went there to return it just two and a half hours later and I’m told that they can’t refund me neither can they exchange it for me, ok let me speak to the manager and the customer service attendant said there’s no one available to speak to. Can you see how disgusting this is?

Can somebody switch the lights on? If shopping in semi-darkness is your thing - come luxuriate in this dimly lit utopia! The shelves always seem to be empty. The long long queue for self checkouts is irritating, and what is this obsession with the carrier bags being guarded by staff at all costs? Is there a plastic bag stealing epidemic in Harpurhey?

Went to exchange some school pants and the women behind the desk was very rude and made me feel very uncomfortable. I was already anxious about returning so I had previously been in store and asked about exchanging and was told yes it would be fine as long as I have the receipt which I did. So the women I exchanged the item with was very rude and was unhappy with the fact the pants wasn't on a hanger anymore. I took the hanger off in the store so I could fit them in the bag easier so I never took the hanger with me. She then proceeded to argue with me telling me I should return them the way I bought them because now some other women has to put them back how they was and that she could refuse to exchange them if she wanted to. I asked her to get her manager as I didn't believe this and she also refused and said well it's just nice to bring them back how they was sold isn't it. The pants didn't fit my son so they got put straight back in the bag and that was it they wasn't dirty or messy they just didn't have a hanger with them. I won't be buying items that I'm unsure about anymore just incase I have to return because this experience has given me more anxiety about returning items now.
