This is the branch which I usually come to, and it's pretty good. It's typically easy to find a parking space in the car park, and getting a trolley is easy too, since this shop doesn't have locks on them.

The shop itself is typically clean and tidy, with a good selection of all different products from everyday essentials e.g. washing up liquid, bread and milk to seasonal stuff like Christmas and Easter products. The price of a lot of products sold is typically very reasonable, and many of them I've tried are really good, in particular many of the 'just essentials' products, and those you sometimes find in the 'reduced' sections.

The service in the cafe is quite good when you're after a cuppa, and the toilets are good standard. I also love the sign on the disabled door, stating that not every disability is visible. I use this toilet myself when I need to, because of my autism and epilepsy, so if ever someone asks me why I'm using it, I can just point at the sign without needing to explain anything. Not that there's any reason why they need to know though!

The shop staff are often very friendly and helpful too, such as always being willing to help you get something down off a high shelf which you can't reach, or helping to find a product you're looking for, but cannot find. The cashier staff are also very friendly and helpful, asking if someone needs help packing their shopping. Customer service staff are good too. I've asked for help removing security tags from products I've purchased, and they always do so with no fuss.

The only problem is with the self service tills. On the occasions when they begin to play up - such as if you've picked up an item you can't scan - getting the staff to help is often difficult, as many a time, they are usually standing around chatting, so it can be hard to get their attention. Other than that, can't complain.

Friendly and helpful staff although the security are a bit paranoid, I bought 14 bottles of whisky 🥃 this morning and they followed me around like hound dogs, a bit pathetic imo but what can I say? I like my whisky 🥃 🤤

You need a letter from god to get your click and collect parcel within 30mins. Puts me off ordering online! Always loads of middle aged women employees hanging round doing absolutely nothing and think it’s acceptable for customers standing and waiting.
I’ve picked up 5 orders lately and click and collect is absolutely the last priority for employees

“Happy to help”.. my ase! “The colleague is coming to help..” nooo! The staff are absolutely useless. The whole lot of them just stand around sucking at their jobs, chatting and socialising instead of working. When the self-checkout tills go wrong, they ignore you and keep talking, making you wait ages before they even notice. And when they finally do, they walk over like they’re on a casual stroll. They’re not there to help—they’re there to socialise! The whole lot should be sacked and replaced! Absolutely shocking!

Today, 30/10/24, I took my three grandchildren, all under the age of 8, to Asda cafe in the Hunts Cross store as a treat for lunch. It was awful, the choice of food for myself was very limited, the lunch menu had only just started at midday but there was hardly any lunchtime panninis or sandwiches and the attitude of the staff was dismissive, not at all helpful a sort of like it or lump it. My grandaughter and I ended up with pizza, which was so hard a knife wouldn't cut it, and you couldn't even bite it. Generally, the food was not hot and not really edible. The staff need some customer service training and maybe a smile if you want to keep customers. I, for one, would not enter any Asda cafe again after my experience today. I was disgusted

Normally I divide the review into a section of good and bad...but this store is different and here's why:

*Size - This is a massive store with a lot to offer ranging from your general food groceries to even clothes. There's no grocery store bigger than this asda within a 5-10 mile radius.

*Selection - They've pretty much got EVERYTHING in this Asda. Food, clothes, kitchenware, DIY, stationery...you name it and it's probably there.

*Customer Service - The customer service is pretty good. The members of staff are easy to talk to and generally helpful. I've seen some have a little banter with the customers as well which is reassuring.

*Services - Café, Camera Kiosk, toilets, travel money, customer returns, Scan & Go, Butchers, etc.. These are among the services available in this store. There's a few more services included in the store but as you can see, there's just so much more than I can list off over the top of my head. Either way, their all quality services and we'll provided despite the number and variety provided.

*Self checkout - There are two self checkouts sections and both of them are generally the best alternatives to the regular checkout services. The conveyor belt self checkout areas are quite vast in terms of their numbers which is pretty great considering the size of the store and the number of customers.

*Hygiene - As you can see from the pictures and videos I've shown, this store is suprisingly  clean - especially when you take its size into consideration. Even the gents was clean, and this is something that I wouldn't take for granted especially compared to other superstores and even other Asda's within Liverpool.

*Events - Depending on the time of year it is, there's generally a store wide cosmetic outlook throughout the whole store for each event. For example during Christmas / Halloween you'll see the corresponding cosmetics throughout the store which make for an emersive shopping experience. I like it and I'm sure the kids love it even more.

Overall:

All in all...honestly this is hands down one of the best Asda's /superstores I've been to in Liverpool. I'd highly recommend it for anyone looking to visit or go shopping.
9/10 - because no store is  perfect but this comes close.
