I have just planted some bare root privet plants. Communication was great, providing me with updates from ordering to dispatch stage. I ordered 60/80cm plants and I received well packaged, healthy looking specimens with good root mass. Some were even taller than the stated size. I hope to have a nice dense hedge in a few years!

I decided to completely replace my raspberries last year, so I spent about £50 on bare root canes. I was really full of optimism for this year but now realise how naive I've been. Some canes are sprouting and some are throwing up new canes BUT about half are doing nothing! Even if I get some replacements, I've wasted a year. I now wish I had never bothered!

First the good part. After placing the order the plants were received within 24 hours. Amazing service. The raspberry canes received looked strong and healthy. Now the bad part. The loganberry plant was extremely weak and spindly with a tiny root ball / system. It remains to be seen whether it will survive or produce a decent crop. Very disappointed about this.

paid £70 for an apple tree , which turned up looking like it had been played football with !!
The tree also looks like the worst of a bad bunch , dropping brown stained eaten leaves !!
Just so disappointed and disgusted at the state of it !!

Its one of the best nurseries I ever come across.
The quality of the plants is exceptional.
I can not comment on customer service ( as not needed to contact them).
Thank you very much for supplying high quality plants

I like Ashridge because they have a wide range of unusual and rare plants not found elsewhere.
I have made several purchases from Ashridge, with each order containing half a dozen or more plants and generally the plants are of very high quality and on the one occasion that some of the bare root plants failed to establish successfully, they did stand behind their guarantee which is refreshing as that does not happen with some mail order nurseries I could mention!
The business owners are hands on and clearly do care about what their customers think.

I have just taken delivery of an order for a pear tree, raspberry canes and a grass. All plants look very healthy and are of a good size. I had forgotten to order the pear tree with my original order, sent an email asking if it could be added, and received a reply very quickly to confirm that the tree had been added to the order. Although I had hoped for a delivery before Christmas as I was away for the whole of January, when the plants did not arrive I asked if they could be delivered from beginning of February onwards. The plants arrived today, 1 February. I am very happy with the plants and the service.

Bought two varieties of raspberry canes that were delivered in late Autumn last year. Only one of 5 Tulameen has grown and 3 of 5 Polka. All were planted in large pots and watered carefully in a cold greenhouse. Phoned Ashridge and was told back in April to wait until July . Still no growth so removed canes and all had died completely. No sign of life..Agreed to a full refund
