After seeing all the bad reviews I thought I would share my good experience with this shop. I have collected roughly over 30 parcels from this place and all but 1 which did get lost- I have received the rest with no problems, it is a small shop so storage isn’t at its best, whilst the parcels could be sorted differently instead of here and there lol! But that’s my OCD preference. I’m so sorry to the other people that have had an awful experience and should no way be treated the way they have done. For me I have been spoken to politely and never had any bad experiences.

Been to this shop a few times, genuinely okay if your buying drinks etc

There collect + service just isn’t it. I’ve picked up from there before and my parcel was just left in a isle, now most recent parcel has been delivered there but it must not have been received correctly because it I haven’t received a QR code but I can see Royal Mail have delivered it via a photo. after going back a forth and willing to sort the issue with royal mail and come back in Monday so they can scan it off there system they refused and just continued to keep my parcel from me which it was something I needed for the weekend

Amongst all this. I had a last ditch attempt to ask the shop keeper to call his boss the one who he claimed wouldn’t let him give the parcel to me.

He said no.

I’m extremely disappointed. Normally I would have 0 issues coming into this shop but for parcels I just won’t be coming back and this review is a warning for many others to stay clear of this shop regarding parcels.

I don’t usually write reviews, but I feel it’s necessary to speak up after what happened to my mother at this store. On an unbearably hot day – well over 30 degrees – she had gone out to pick up a parcel, something she rarely does. We live nearby, so we expected it to be a quick in-and-out. Instead, she returned over an hour later, visibly distressed, and with no parcel in hand.

She had been left standing in the shop for over 30 minutes while customer after customer was served ahead of her. When she finally tried to ask what was going on, the man behind the counter almost reprimanded at her to close her mouth and move aside – even going so far as to remark she wasn’t his "usual nice type of customer". Absolutely vile behaviour. My mother, who is polite and reserved by nature, was deeply shaken.

What makes this worse is that the parcel was never given to her. The man claimed it had been “lost” – yet still scanned the collection code, effectively marking it as collected in the courier system. No receipt, no explanation, no accountability. Just a dismissive wave and a humiliating experience.

It’s hard to express how disheartening it is to hear someone you love be treated with such blatant disrespect and hostility – especially in a local business where a basic level of decency should be the norm. My mother was reluctant to write this herself, not wanting to cause trouble, but this sort of conduct should never go unchecked.

The shop’s handling of this situation – from the excessive wait to the verbal aggression to the suspicious scanning of a supposedly ‘lost’ parcel – is appalling. I sincerely hope they find the integrity to notify the courier that the parcel was not handed over and that they reflect on how they treat customers, particularly those who are older, vulnerable, or simply unfamiliar with the process.

Absolute disgraceful behaviour from a cashier yesterday afternoon. My aunt had visited A.V Food and Wine in Hoo to simply pick up her Yodal parcel. My aunt who was next in line to be served was told to "go wait in the corner" as the cashier prefers to serves those who are paying for an item first. So my aunt stood to the side and waited as requested. While my aunt waited, other customers were able to pick up and drop off their parcels. So my aunt then asked if she can now pick up her parcel? The cashier then got aggressive and shouted at my aunt claiming she was being impatient & rude. This is after waiting 30 minutes for her parcel. He then tried to intimidate my aunt, by causing a scene whenever a new customer walked into the shop. To make matters worse, he asked my aunt to wait for two shoppers that were still browsing items in the shop to finish before he would serve her. The blatant racial descrimation he displayed was shocking. If he did not wish to serve all members of the community then he shouldnt have a public facing role. My aunt is a nurse and spent her entire life working as a nurse for the NHS and this is how she gets treated! My aunt is now making a complaint to Yodal directly.
Shame on you!
