Our stay at Bay Tree Cottage was exceptional. Susan and Willie were super hosts. The location was perfect for us on our way to Belfast. Pictures match everything you see on line. We were greeted with a fantastic cake that was just what we needed. Hillsborough a very special village with the castle and charming restaurants to enjoy is nearby. Bay Tree is quiet and beautiful and a first class establishment. Willie even drove us to a local graveyard and assisted us locating my ancestors from the 1800s. We will cherish their cottage and their hospitality.

I love when my expectations are exceeded and they were on every level during our recent break at Bay Tree cottage. We had a wonderful warm welcome from Susan (and scones) and the house is just gorgeous. As the reviews say - it was spotless with everything you could ever need on a self catering break and then some. Susan has impeccable taste and this shows in the interior decor, the quality of the linens, and the attention to detail throughout. It was such a warm cosy house to come back to after sightseeing or shopping in the area - there was so much to do four days wasn’t enough! Hillsborough is a beautiful village, with lots of nice places to eat and everyone is so friendly! We booked the breakfast hamper each morning and it was like Christmas waiting to see what daily treats would be inside. It’s a fantastic location to tour around the area or just chill and enjoy the house. It was really nice to meet Susan and her recommendations for food and places to visit were excellent. We really hope to return soon!

We have just returned from a 4-night stay at Bay Tree Cottage and perfection would be an understatement. We have had the most wonderful family getaway. Susan and Willie are the perfect hosts and so welcoming. |The Cottage itself is beautifully decorated, extremely comfortable and fully equipped with everything that you could possibly need. A home away from home! |As we have a 11 month old baby, being 20 minutes from Belfast City Centre was the perfect location, with many surrounding attractions to keep us busy during our stay.||If you are looking for a beautiful place to enjoy solo, as a couple or family, we couldn’t recommend this property enough. What can I say, a fantastic stay in Bay Tree Cottage, Royal Hillsborough. The owner's are the loveliest people and so helpful. The cottage and grounds are just picturesque, so much so that we held our wedding there, the photographs and video of it was just breathtaking.
Thank you so much Susan and William for your kind hospitality and making our day extra special.

Would highly recommend for anyone looking a nice getaway as it's conveniently located, close to Royal Hillsborough with easy access to the motorway to Belfast.

Wonderful accommodation, in a beautiful rural setting, with superb hosts, Susan and Willie.||Very comfortable and attractively decorated cottage, which was a joy to return to after days out around Northern Ireland. Brilliantly light and airy in the mornings, and cosy and warm in the evenings. A real home from home - and if you’re lucky enough to sample Susan’s cakes or shortbread, you’re in for a real treat!||Conveniently located for access to the motorway, Belfast is only 20 minutes away. Hillsborough, which is only minutes away, is an interesting and historical Georgian town full of things to do and see.||All in all, a great experience to stay at Bay Tree Cottage, and a place will we certainly return to on future Northern Ireland trips.

This place is beautiful and perfect for any length of holiday. Was here for a long weekend and it exceeded our expectations, the kitchen is v practical allowing us to have a cooked breakfast every morning and there’s 3 bathrooms which was great for our family. Susan is a lovely host happily providing any information we asked and advice on what to see in the area. Definitely will be staying here again when we come back to Northen Ireland.

Bay Tree Cottage from arrival to departure was perfect for us. Susan the owner greeted us on arrival and showed us around the cottage. Susan is very friendly and made us feel very welcome. The cottage itself is beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean and very well maintained. The gardens surrounding the cottage are beautiful.||We requested breakfast for one of the mornings, and Susan left us a beautiful hamper with our breakfast at the door so we weren’t disturbed.||I can not recommend Bay Tree enough, and my husband and I will most definitely return.

I have just spent 3 nights in this beautiful cottage. I was welcomed by my hosts Willie and Susan who are delightful and checked that I was always happy as I was on my own. This is cottage with everything one could want from a self catering stay but also it is equipped with absolutely everything needed to cook, if you want to, which isn't always the case in other properties. The bedrooms both have ensuite bathrooms as well as a beautiful downstairs bathroom and the beds and bedding are of the highest quality. I really enjoyed my stay here and I would recommend it to anyone who wants quality to stay here. Hillsborough is a delightful village to visit and I will hopefully return again to enjoy this special cottage.|
