We stopped here for lunch, and I had the bacon and mushroom quiche, which was delicious and came with a generous amount of salad. I’d recommend arriving earlier, as some options were low or out of stock. There’s plenty of seating, the atmosphere is lovely, and the staff were helpful and welcoming. I’d definitely go back—just earlier next time to make it for the lunch special! 🤭

Visited here recently for the first time in a while and, wow, we were so disappointed! Very expensive for such basic poor food. Over £8 for a very basic cheese baguette with a few crisps, almost £10 for very small jacket potato and almost £5 for cheesy chips with hardly any cheese! Used to be really good for lunch and I have no problem paying for good food but for the price it was unbelievably basic and clearly a cost cutting tactic. I’m not the type of person to complain but we won’t be returning.

1st time for lunch & managed to get the last Speical of the day (Pork). Don’t expect Michelin ⭐ cuisine given it’s a cafe in a Garden centre but was enjoyable & I’d recommend it! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Firstly the staff looked unhappy and no smiles or greeting from counter staff. We ordered two small breakfasts. I asked for my bacon to be crispy. On arrival the bacon was not any more well cooked than my friends. The sausage was undercooked and the beans tasted cheap and odd. Will not return again.

Friendly staff but food was absolutely disgusting. Had a sausage sandwich that was totally inedible. Sausages had obviously been hot held all day and bread had a sour smell like it had been hanging around sweating in its bag in a hot kitchen for 3 days. Also had a soup that was more like dirty dishwater with half an uncooked baguette. Really awful!!
Had two cakes and both were stale and inedible. I would avoid this cafe at all costs. Only went to visit the aquatic centre but ended up spending nearly £30 on the worst food I think I’ve ever encountered in my lifetime. Probably get served fresher more appetising food in prison.
Seems staff have given up long ago and are just there to fleece pensioners.

Came here with a friend and our 2 toddlers. Both ordered the bacon sandwich, came out within minutes - a red flag in hindsight. Both have since suffered with 24 hours of vomiting, diarrhoea and food poisoning. Luckily our two toddlers didn’t have any of the sandwich.

I have been going to this cafe many times, the last visit is my last! We arrived slightly early and ask if it was okay to sit as we know the cafe doesn’t start serving till 9.30am. When my partner went to get three coffees, the manager called Nigel said to one of his staff it was too early, the poor lady started to make the drinks, he again told her it was too early! He then told my partner, you keep doing this I will not allow you to sit in and get served! We had our drinks, which we normally have two and something to eat, we left and told the poor lady that served us and handed our receipt over to give to nasty Nigel to look at the time that we was actually served as it shows the time on the receipt, guess what? 9.30am!!!! What a totally miserable manager, he has lost our custom as we will not be returning !!!!!!!

The jacket potato with tuna and full salad has got much smaller, no apple no curried or spiced pasta and very often the potatoes are over cooked , brown, with burnt skin. We do like the bear café and have been visiting for years but would prefer to pay more for the meal we were used to getting rather than a smaller meal.
