It's a good place for all the cold weather g
And hiking gear. Can get some good sales as well. It's not a huge place, but does have a good amount of variety and options for hiking and shoes as well. So it's good overall!

Nothing was to much trouble, very friendly and knowledgeable, no pressure sales.

Just went in to browse and found a Weird Fish fleece I loved. When I needed a bit of help fining the right size, an employee named Dave was only happy to help. He also steered some older folks in the right direction as he was helping me, and always with a smile. It’s great to see local customer service like that in a chain store. They guy was hust awesome.

This is also based on the very short amount of time I spent in the shop as it was close to closing time. But the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. They offered advise on the products on which was just suitable for what I required. And even helped me make a well informed decision on my selection from their own experience with the item. The store was laid out well so you could find what you was looking for relatively easy. And right now they also had a sale on which was good too know. Overall a good experience. Thumbs up.

Although Blacks as a company has gradually gone more down the budget road over time, I still like going here. The Bury store has really excellent staff and there is always a discount to be had. They are limited in space so it means the range is relatively small, but I've done click and collect a few times with no problems. Outdoors shops are a minefield when it comes to pricing, but I've always had honest impartial advice from the staff here that has saved me money at times, while also ensuring I will keep coming back long term. This is what I like to see companies doing rather than grabbing whatever they can.
