Bought a Nordman Fir Christmas tree to go outside at home and the one i really wanted was on display in the outside garden section at B&Q Bishop Auckland. I asked the assistant, Dean, if he could speak to someone (or if i could) to ask if we could please have the display tree if we took it out of the stand ourselves. Dean spoke to one of his colleagues, Lisa, who kindly said we could purchase the display tree. Dean promptly popped the tree out of its stand and netted it for us. Tree was also a very good price. We appreciate being able to purchase a display tree as it is not commonplace, therefore, i feel both Dean and Lisa went above and beyond to ensure customer satisfaction, so thank you very much.

Nice and local, usually have the products I require, just a little on the expensive side compared to say Screwfix. Usually go here when needing something quick as it's closer than Screwfix. It doesn't carry a full range as the bigger stores as this is a smaller store, but happy to use this store, glad it's there.

Always friendly and helpful staff. Always a good selection with plenty of stock in, got what we needed and the car park is a reasonable size to trolley stuff over to your vehicle. There are disabled bays if you need them.

Need to reconsider price tags of all items
Yes, it is a comprehensive store, but has no clear market plan amongst all the existing competitors. Best thing to do is to compete on price tag without compromising quality.

Still it is one of my favourite stores

Great DIY store with plenty of items. Good selection of indoor plants (we bought some on our last visit) which are reasonably priced.
Also have some great deals on home automation products.
Have a pop in!

Since they have resorted to self checkout I hate it. I refuse to use them. When will shops take account of the older shopper who needs social interaction and help not to mention the disabled who struggle to manage these types of tills as I do. Nor do I want to have to stand and wait to be served. As you only have one till in operation as I suffer from chronic back pain. Surly, it is obvious when people would prefer to wait to be served in one line rather than use a vacant self checkout isle that people like to be served by a real person.

Nice wide aisles and well stocked.
However there seems to be little care taken of their plants. Vast amounts were either really dry or others water sodden.
Staff are sometimes difficult to find but are always helpful when you have tracked one down.
