Ordered the mussels on arrival, smelt very bad. They were dry and looked as if they were sitting along time. Seafood chowder was definitely not seafood chowder, never seen it made with peas, carrots and tomato sauce! I was sick that night and I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone, if returning from previous establishment ( Timber Quay) this is a totally different restaurant and nothing like it was previously. Would not recommend to anyone!

Burn on the river is a fantastic restaurant that has recently opened where Timberquay was in Derry. It is in a wonderful setting overlooking the Foyle and is tastefully finished inside. It has an excellent menu of both food and drinks. We didn't have a starter but the sirloin steak, duck and sides were faultless. The guinness, cocktails and Irish coffee were all lovely. Excellent service and staff. The manager, Stephen is excellent at his job, as he has always been when working in other restaurants. Emmett is one of the friendliest and most efficient floor staff we have ever met. We will definitely return and would highly recommend. It's great to see Stephen back managing this wonderful restaurant.

Two of us went in last week as the new menu looked appealing. Both ordered steak and eggs. When they arrived it looked like it was just thrown on the plate. Not only that, there were no kale potatoes, like it said it was served with on the menu. When we pointed
It out we were told the chef said he forgot to put them on. Both steaks were ordered medium rare. One came out rare and the other medium well. The silver lining was that the young blonde waitress was excellent. She was extremely helpful and attentive. But unfortunately we won’t be rushing back.

Unfortunately, this place is equally as disappointing as TQ. It's basically the same menu apart from a few new menu items and tastes like the same chef... Having new management is great and the place has views. But the food lets this place down. 🤷‍♂️.
Service was cafe level, requested coasters for beers, and never got them. Till was broken. Wouldn't give itemised receipt. They do not spilt bills. Fries also didn't come with truffle

Had a lovely lunch at Burn on the River. The salt & chili chicken was very tasty and amazing. The place also has a nice view of the Derry marina, The Peace Bridge and St. Columb's Park on the Waterside. Prices are good and friendly staff.

We went for dinner, and everything was fantastic, we had table with nice views, restaurant look very nice and food was very tasty, unfortunately our steak wasn’t medium rare but it was sorted very quickly and server was super nice and apologized, I also had a few cocktails and they tasted very good, we definitely will be back

Poor food and service. I ordered the ribeye steak medium rare and it arrived with next to no sear but still somehow over cooked. One of our group was handed a plate so hot that it burnt her fingers and left visible marks, when she winced the waitress asked "was that hot?" And just walked away when she was told yes. We asked for water and were brought down dirty glasses with the previous users lipstick still very clearly on them, a pint glass was also dirty. All in all a pretty poor experience and I wouldn't go back.
