Central Overstrand stores

Further to my review about cash only, I read the reply to a previous comment on that subject. Apologies for not seeing your notices and belated understanding for the connectivity issue. I couldn’t find a way to retract my previous review

Very well stocked, kept us going for all our needs for the week. Nice to get local Overstrand gifts, made my 84 year old mother very happy.

Well stocked and clean. Also Brilliant to see only cash being taken. Keep using cash to resist the relentless push for digital currency and gov control

Lots of useful ideas for camping or visitors. For instance, packs of mixed fruits, single potatoes, all at good value.

So this is the only shop in the village which is also a post office and the only accept CASH!! This is 2024 you know! Would be interesting to see what their actual turnover is compared to the declared.. In response to your reply, what a load of old tosh! The pub next door accepts card payments just fine. Internet is available whether you actually have it or not is another matter. Either get with the times or close your doors!

Lots of different items for sale, a great little post office, open 7 days a week. Staff are always helpful, you can even buy buckets and spades and other beach fun time items there along with local related gifts.

Came for afew days away to Overstrand and was absolutely disgusted at how we were treated by the staff !! Elderly lady followed us the whole time the second we walked through the door like we were about to rob the place. No hello, no welcome the second she knew we were not local we were looked at like something on her shoe !! She proceeded to grunt to us when we asked if we could pay by card. So obvious and the atmosphere as soon as we walked in was cold at best. Will never spend here again on principle !! Locals bring in business love !! We are pleasant honest people that wanted to explore the village. Ruin it for us, lady was rude beyond measure !!

Reasonable local shop but Cash Only. No notice to this effect on the door that I could see ☹️
