Food was nice and fresh! but if your not local and out of town which we are then the lady owner was extremely unhelpful and rude!!!!!! We just have as much right to be treated with courtesy as anyone else - considering we almost spent £35!

I live in the mountains of northern Spain and there is one thing that I miss above all and that's a good fish and chips. When I come back to visit family in Essex my first port of call is a chippy.
This time I've struck gold.
The Claire chip shop has the best home made chips I've had in years and the fish is really good too.
There's not much more to say other than that I have visited this oasis of deliciousness three times in the last two weekends and I'll most definitely be back again soon.

No manners, very moody, not welcoming. The helping staff are always very polite. Shame it can‘t be said about the owners. Look at you as if you aren’t worthy of being there. Last time I will go in there as this has happened on more than one occasion.

Extremely happy with the quality of the food and also the service not to mention value for money! Large rock and chips large battered sausage and chips curry sauce and mushy peas £11? My previous local was £5 more.
