Expensive and constantly out of stock. The staff are friendly and helpful but the selection is awful the veg is always on its last legs and the beer section is never priced properly.

Finally the reduced section often feels like they are trying to put you off buying it. Example. Chicken breasts, go out of date today. On "reduced" with less than a £1 off the full price...

Update. May 23. Ludicrouspy expensive and even worse stock! Absolutely shameless profiteering.

I tried to buy a scratch card for myself, I was with my daughter and I have asked her which one should I get . Because I have asked her, the cashier refused to sell the scratch card saying he suspects proxy sale.
Never encountered this ever .
I even explained it’s for me and not for her.
Incident happened on 23/08/2024.

Coop should be recruiting more experienced people, lady named Bala should be trained asap. To be honest I feel like she's treating European people differently and I also feel like she should so being rude to customers .

Great friendly staff. This is a very busy co op in clay gate. Because it is so busy, you may find it has limited stock as things get sold very quickly. It has on road parking. You can get a very fast home delivery from your major online food delivery service.

Staff are usually lovely and very helpful but I just got screamed at twice. I paid with cash on self checkout and it didn’t give me the option to buy a bag but I had too much stuff so just got one. A women working there stormed over shouting did I buy a bag I said no it didn’t let me she walked away to serve someone else. Unsure what was going on and needing to get home I turned to leave as there was no sign of her coming back. Only to hear her shouting and screaming excuse me come. Back and pay for the bag. I bought over £18 worth of shopping 5p 10p whatever it is doesn’t inconvenience me so didn’t need this screaming. I turned to her and said well you just walked away what am I meant to do I can’t scan it can I here’s 20p and walked out. Serious lessons in customer service needed I’ve worked in the industry for 6+ years

For a small shop this rates above average and you can buy essential goods. The bakery section is particularly good but would suggest you get in early as things go quickly. Only issue is the parking. There is a car park near by but not great if you are carrying a couple of heavy shopping bags. The staff are friendly and very helpful.

Woa! I said to myself when I saw the price of my favourite beer. I would have to cut down on drinking if I continued shopping here. Luckily Sainsbury's were still open and I didn't mind the journey. Also my favourite cheese tasted like butter from this shop and it's not supposed to taste like that so I'm venturing to save myself some change and be good to my palate. I will say the shop is clean as that is what people seem to care about these days.

Quite a good shop, quite expensive though and some food been left too long in the shelves. Otherwise, good coffee machine and nice staff.
