Have shopped here for many years, first time going late due to needing something urgently. Looked online and it stated that the shop was open until 11pm. Left my house at 10:50 arrived at 10:57. Shutters were down but I saw customers leaving so went to the doors, but they were on on way, when another customer left I went to go in through the open door at 10:58 but was stopped by a member of staff saying they were closed! I explained it wasn’t 11 yet and I literally needed to grab one thing, which I knew where it was and would take 30 seconds if that! But they still refused to let me in!
If you advertise that you are open until 11pm then you should be open until 11pm. Not just before, luckily I managed to find another shop that was open to get the one item I needed, but the co op is my local. My husband was with me and works in retail so telling me it’s because of the tills is a complete lie, the staff just wanted to be done rather then help a loyal customer out when you’re still meant to be open! You have now lost a customer that shopped with you daily. Very disappointed.

Store has recently undergone a complete refit, the range has massively increased; the store is better laid out and much clean/tidier. Happy to use this as my local 👍🏻

Just popped in quickly to grab a sandwich. First visit, so didn't know where things were. Staff incredibly helpful and sandwich great. Great fun watching the robot delivery service whizzing by.

Before refurbishment a great local resource, subsequently with different staff and how the changes show (for the worse). Now run for the benefit of the staff not the customer. Will not put bags on the self-service tills as they say that customers make them too messy. Staff park their own cars in the customer spaces all day. Rarely is anybody actually able to help within a reasonable time frame. I now travel further to the branch at Kingsmead who are an example of great customer service.

On my visit on 27th May 2023 some of the staff was extremely rude. Making inappropriate suggestions, then turning back on me after I pointed it out. Co-op was let down by this employee. It's sad that one rogue person can make so lasting negative impression on the whole company.

If I could leave a 0 star I would. The way you have treated my elderly father is discusting rude and disrespectful. If your staff members believe it is suitable customer service to accuse my father or picking up scratch cards off the floor to attempt to cash when he made a genuine mistake. You know being 70 takes it toll on your eyesight And as a human mistakes happen. But instead of kindness and suitable customer service he was faced with rudeness and accusations. This is discusting way to treat a vulnerable customer and has left him shaken and distressed. Co-op as a brand surely cannot accept this sort of behaviour and yet it still happened with the response of. We are not sure who could have said that. Well I'm pretty sure as you are capable or running a business you should be capable of monitoring your staff. Does this really portray your values as a company? I don't know any company that would tolerate this sort of behaviour or utter disrespect on customers like this. Rest assured we will not ever be using co-ops at all again and will shop somewhere who treat customers fairly regardless of age, how they look or any other option that your staff may have thought was suitable to descrimate against.

Entered the shop to return a parcel at the till which is just inside the door to the left. Was informed by a member of staff that I had to walk the whole way round the EMPTY shop and squeeze past another member of staff who was blocking the one way system just to get to the till and be told they're not accepting parcels today. Waste of time.
