The cold beer wasn't cold. As much as i respect the ethics of the cooperative, i can't bring myself to purchase ambient temperature beer at cold beer prices. The Monkston coop have never let me down in these matters.

Its a typical co-op with the basics of what you would require. The store is pretty well laid out bit does require more staff as usual in most co-ops.
Self service is usable and efficient.
Staff need to be a little more on the friendly side as they don't like to chat too much but then thats no real suprise when you are busy serving a lot of customers

Great little shop with vast selection of groceries and some other stuff, its always stocked up.
The staff are very helpful (eg finding what you need, helping with the self service checkout).
You can also get yourself a cheeky costa coffee off the machine if you need that extra kick.

I was using the self check-out and every item I would put through the machine would say 'wait for assistance'. The elderly man at the counter had to keep approving the items - i told him I could not carry on like this with every item and if I should move to a different check-out machine. He was very rude and dismissive saying that I shouldn't be using a card to pay for goods and it's because I have small items that the machine is reacting that way'. This is a very stupid explanation.
This is not the first time that I have had a bad experience. Two weeks ago, the elderly lady behind the counter had given me plastic bags for my groceries but the handles kept breaking, she just said you should have brought your own bag (whilst charging me for the bags) and left me to pick up the items that had dropped and spilled on the floor.
I am extremely disappointed with the service from this store. I am considering not shopping here again.

My local coop. Good for a midweek top up. Staff always friendly. Much better layout since the refurbishment. 2 self checkouts is not enough during busy times but 2 is better than none.
