It's small, understocked, the fridges are always broken, most of the staff are miserable except Victoria, it never has all the things you need so you're forced to go to the bigger one about 200m down the road but that one doesn't stock a lot of the items the small one offers so you end up having to use both to get all the things you need. The small one is due to be renovated and extended to be much larger much to the annoyance of the people in the area as it will cause the closure of two popular independent shops.

Definitely the worst supermarket in Brighton. Overpriced with empty shelves and broken freezer all the time. It's a joke. The only positive thing about this place is people who work behind the tills, doing their best. I really wish we could have a different supermarket in seven dials, instead of 2 coops close to each other.

Love this place - use it every day, often multiple times. Staff are lovely and I'll have a chat with all of them. They pack a lot in - fresh warm breads and pastries in the morning, all of the high quality meals and meats and cheeses in the left aisle, essentials down the middle and large selection of booze on the right. Lets be fair - it can get a bit cramped if it's busy and they've had a delivery...I try to avoid busy times...but, it's a small price for the selection/quality so close to home.

The staff get 10 stars as they are so cooperative (get it). However the prices are insultingly high. The "fresh" veg is often close to going bad. The bread is full of additives which always makes me think it must be very cheap stuff. Extortionate prices for tins. They wont sell coop branded baked beans or chicken soup for example but are happy to charge something like £1.50 for heinz.
People who live nearby that find it hard to get to a good supermarket are being taken advantage of here. The coop have monopolised the seven dials and are just using this as an excuse to rip us off! Not cooperative at all and completely an aggressive unethical business.
I advise people to think ahead and avoid them.

Small, dim and not very inviting. Be prepared to be bundled, shoved and jostled by other people as you try to navigate the store.

This is best visited for quick, practical and essential purchases only. Generally never a good customer experience.

I tried to stop a shop lifter stealing as there is no guard here, for my trouble I’ve got a damaged shoulder. The poor staff at the shop said coop won’t pay for a security guard and this is happening DAILY. Even though apparently customers are being assaulted. Of course coop doesn’t care, it would rather it’s staff and customers err threatened rather than pay for a security guard. They have the security footage. The guy who was thriving and who assaulted me is in the pictures.

Rude, indifferent staff. Too expensive. Always out of stock on fresh food. Think of it more like an off licence and a cramped one at that. Hygiene is questionable. Avoid if you can. It is cheaper to shop at the marks and Spencer and 103 times more pleasant and with more choice
