Amazing wine tasting event here tonight. The cheeseboard was fabulous. The owners were incredibly friendly and warm. They even remembered we had got married the week before. Fantastic wine bar, excellent service and phenomenal food! My friends and I went on Saturday night, it was busy!!! The lad who spoke to us on the phone said it was fully booked, which was lovely and the atmosphere was amazing. The charcuterie board was paired with our wine and was a fantastic choice of Portuguese Vinho Verde, together were absolutely delicious!! Will definitely be back again.

We called last minute to make a booking for 8 for a celebration. Anita was absolutely lovely on the phone and when we arrived in the evening it was to a friendly warm welcome. Everything about Couplings feels like it has been carefully considered to give patrons a relaxing, high end experience. The atmosphere is great, the drinks fantastic and the sharing boards are excellent. All of us (ages 19-65) enjoyed it and said we’d like to return and next time try the dessert board too! Thank you both for a lovely evening. Highly recommend 💜

Everything about Couplings was spot on. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a warm, genuine welcome from the owners that immediately set the tone for the evening. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between relaxed and refined; you can tell it’s a passion project for the owners.

The wine selection is fantastic, with something for every palate, and expert guidance is on hand if you need help choosing.

And the charcuterie board? Absolutely phenomenal; generous, beautifully presented, and packed with top-quality produce that paired perfectly with the wine.

This place is a real gem and such a welcome addition to Ashbourne. Service was faultless, the vibe was just right, and we left already planning our next visit.

An incredible place! This was my favorite spot when I visited the town, they have a great wine collection, the owners are lovely people, the ambience was amazing but most importantly they were highly accommodating to dietary restrictions, which is important because I’m celiac.

They had gluten free crackers and pretzels, my boyfriend and I order a charcuterie board and asked for his crackers to be put on the side, so instead they brought us two smaller boards, to ensure no cross contamination happened, and we each got to enjoy our boards, my boyfriend with his regular crackers and me with the gluten free ones, it was a great experience and probably the most delicious and most beautiful charcuterie board I’ve ever had.

We had an absolutely perfect afternoon at Couplings Wine Bar. This quiet spot has a wide selection of wines from around the world and some of the finest charcuterie, cheese and fruit boards I've ever had.

While we chose our first glasses of wine, we quickly came to realize that the owner Lee was better at recommending than we were at picking. He picked each glass for us based on our own preferences, and each was a slam dunk. Lee was also happy to tell us about the history of the building, and he and his staff were highly attentive and made our visit excellent. You can't beat the friendly, warm atmosphere at Couplings, and it remains a highlight of our trip to the UK.

We really enjoyed visiting Couplings, and can confidently say it is a must-visit when you are in Ashbourne. Can't wait to come back again soon. I recommend reserving a table ahead of time.

Such an amazing place. The food is fabulous! The atmosphere is perfect! The owners are SO lovely! They always love to have a chat about the food and wine. They do everything to perfection and are always looking for ways to improve and to cater to their customers! You will not be disappointed visiting here! 🩷 xxx
