My boots arrived today and they are fantastic, they look even better in person than in the photographs. They are easily on par with rival brands costing twice as much.

Richard De Winter was incredibly responsive to my emails and helpful in advising me on quality levels of his own brand as well as others he sells and the differences between US and UK sizing.

I will certainly be buying more from them in the future.

I recently purchased loake shoes from Bradshaw and lloyd by telephone. The customer service was exceptional and nothing was too much trouble. The shoes arrived by courier as promised on the day and time!.... Other retailers please take note of how service should be done.

I have recently purchased my third pair of De Winter boots from Bradshaw and Lloyd in Hurstpierpoint,West Sussex.
The combination of quality and value is simply unbeatable. The English workmanship and the leathers themselves are superb.
They all originate from the same last so a consistent fit is assured.
These have all been very good boots,maybe even brilliant for the price.

My DeWinter boots are the most comfortable smart shoes I have ever owned. Beautifully made and hard wearing, I can see these lasting 20 years or more. That makes it about £10 a year; really good value.

Sometimes you come across a special company that you've never heard of. De Winter boots is one of those. I was looking for an alternative to Crockett and Jones suede chukkas and after comparing Loake and Cheaney I chose De Winters for their style, quality and value. The waxed suede offers extra durability too and wasn't available from competitors. The real difference though was the service from Richard who patiently sent me two options without postage charge and helped me to get the perfect size and fit. It is his company and there is no substitute for someone with his knowledge and commitment to customer service. I thoroughly recommend Richard and his excellent products.

I have brought two pairs of boots from Bradshaw & Lloyd over the past few years, the last pair being the De Winter Rochester boots. These boots just exude quality, from the initial feel of the waxed leather uppers, to the fully leather lined inside. Like all quality boots they require a period of wearing in, but due to the suppleness of the waxed leather my pair wore in quicker than my Loake Bedales. Richard De Winter is exceedingly helpful and knowledgeable, and buying from him is a pleasure as he makes sure you leave with the right shoe or boot for you. I'm sure it wont be too long before I will be buying another pair.

Having bought a pair of Sanders formal black " George " boots about two years ago I recently ordered a pair of Chelsea boots from Mr DeWinter's own range and was delighted with their finish and manufacture ; if anything they might be slightly more substantial than the Sanders pair.
