Nestled in the heart of Tilehurst, Reading, Double-Barrelled Brewery is a gem for beer enthusiasts and casual drinkers alike. This independent brewery offers a refreshing selection of craft beers that are as fresh as they come, brewed right on the premises. The friendly staff are always on hand with recommendations and a smile, enhancing the overall experience. There is a selction of beers onsite - lager, sour beer, IPAs - I had the Scoop IPA and it's good. There are also other alcoholic drinks served at the bar (white wine etc).
There is food available at certain times from different food traders who set up in the car park. The venue itself is pet friendly and has onsite toilets. Recommended.

Amazing experience! We went on a brewery tour on Saturday, and I was very impressed by the knowledge, the passion and expertise of our tour guide! We tried four beers, had the history of the brewery, process of beer making explained and we were able to see the industrial side of the complex. It was very nice to have the tour situated in the tap room (which was very busy), the one down side was that the machinery made it slightly hard to hear things. The interior is very cosy, very good taste in music, it was fairly easy to get there without a car using public transport. I really recommend the experience 🙂

Nice atmosphere & friendly staff. Fun Bingo for the little ones, big board games, puzzles & a pool table. Outdoor bench & tables inside that can fit more than 4 people at each but can be a bit tight to leave a table & move around inside.
Some outdoor seating in the car park by the entrance & usually has a different vendor trading from a portable food kitchen outside the entrance also.

Beer:
Anyone that likes beer should check out some of the beers this place has to offer.

This is a great place to visit and sample some locally produced beers. More than just a brewery taphouse, it’s a proper sized bar and entertainment venue, that’s been really changing and evolving since I’ve first visited, to become a place worth seeking out.

It’s located in West Reading, off Portman Road, in a renovated warehouse. The taphouse area is segregated off from the brewery/work areas and is decorated with interesting features plus pictures of excellent dogs. Theres plenty of seating, with sofas and canteen-style areas. Theres a large bar counter, serving Double-Barrelled beers on draft and fridges containing various offerings in cans for you to peruse. They sell beer to take away as well. I normally have the Ding, which is their pils-style lager, but friends have sampled their other beers and enjoyed them- they always have plenty to choose from.

It hosts various events throughout the year and has a range of food offerings- bar snacks and hot food from different caterers in the outside seating area. They change up the caterers so check with the venue should you want to know what’s available. The building is fully accessible as it’s all located on the ground level and there’s plenty of parking right beside the brewery. It’s situated not far from where the No.15/16/17 buses stop on Oxford Road and the new No.18 stops nearby on Portman Road. It’s a bit further from Reading West and Tilehurst railway stations but definitely walkable and worth the trek.

The place is clean, well-kept and the staff are really friendly and always helpful and ready to give you advice on the beers. I've also ordered packs of their brews as gifts for friends- the service was really good and efficient- have had them sent through the post and picked them up myself. Good to see a local company evolve and grow.

Brilliant addition to West Reading and worth seeking out from further away, especially if you’re a fan of their beers.
