The prices are co-op ruled prices so are quite high compared to other shops. £1.55 for for pints semi skimmed milk compared to Tesco Express Manningtree £1.09. But I do understand that's nothing to do with the shop itself but it's another good reason to go else where!
The Post Office....We used to have a lovely counter at the back of the shop ran by really nice staff, then it got moved to the tills at the front . Often the Co-op staff would serve you ? One lady said she thought my letter was a bit heavy when she weighed it so I said I'd add another stamp. No it'll be ok she said and popped it in the sacks to go. Three weeks later back came the letter and I had to pay the fine and to then resend it.
The staff are either generally miserable and I'm going back over 15 years of myself living in the village or too busy chatting amongst themselves to give a decent customer care service. As for the manager if you're lucky enough to see him doing any work on the shop floor, you'll find he has little man syndrome and now thinks he's too good to serve customers (although he was non too keen before he became manager)
I genuinely feel sorry for people who can't drive and have to rely on this shop.
