We booked the forest kitchen based on reviews, expecting good food and great service. We arrived at 7.30 and were met with smiles and the great service we hoped for. We ordered our food at 7.45 and waited 30 minutes for the starters to arrive and within in a few minutes the mains arrived as well. We refused the mains due to only just receiving the starters, the waiter went away and returned with the meals and said we had to have them now as the kitchen was filled and they had lots of orders to fulfil. We had to put our starters aside as eating cold kebabs wasn’t something we wanted and I ended up wrapping my starter to take home. Up to now no apology was given and we felt that although the food was good it definitely hadn’t lived upto expectations. I went to the bar and spoke to the waitress saying the meal was fine but I didn’t appreciate the main being forced on us so quickly and she apologised saying it was their fault for not sending the ticket though. If they knew they’d made this mistake why didn’t they tell us and try to delay the main meal, surely they could have done something to manage was going to happen? When we asked for the bill we expected the manager to offer compensation ie a free drink, the starters comped but nothing they still expected us to pay in full. As we’d been out all day and faced a 2 drive home my husband paid. I refused to leave a tip, based on the lack of service we’d received. Unfortunately this is not a restaurant we’ll be returning to anytime soon. Poor service all round

We visited Forest Kitchen recently and were genuinely impressed. The place has a relaxed, modern feel and the staff were friendly from the moment we walked in.

We ordered a mix of starters — the hummus was the standout. Fresh, simple and exactly what you want to nibble on while you’re waiting for the mains.

For the main course we went for the chicken shish and lamb shish. Both were cooked really well — tender, nicely seasoned and served with good portions of rice and salad. You can tell everything is prepared fresh. The portions are generous too, so you definitely won’t leave hungry.

Dessert-wise, the baklava was really good — not overly sweet and had a nice pistachio flavour.

Overall, the food was solid, service was quick, and the atmosphere was warm without being too loud. It’s a great spot for an easy meal if you’re around Epping. Would happily go back.

My family live in various locations quite a long way from Epping. We agreed that it is pretty much half way for all of us to get together. I found this absolutely wonderful restaurant and the family has now returned on several occasions. The staff are welcoming. The food outstanding, (even for fussy me). Portion sizes plentiful and the food is fresh and delicious. It's not overly expensive too...A lovely experience on each visit.

Forest Kitchen is such a gem! Every table gets a serving of their deep-fried tortilla chips, and honestly they’re so addictive, crispy, golden, and perfectly seasoned. The kebabs are juicy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection, and everything comes out looking and tasting incredible. The staff here are so attentive and genuinely kind, they always make sure you’re happy and well looked after. The whole place has a warm, welcoming vibe that makes you want to stay longer. Easily one of my favorite spots for amazing Turkish food. I cannot praise this place enough.

I had such a wonderful experience within this restaurant, the staff are very friendly and the service was very helpful and comforting, the atmosphere really was amazing. I came with my friend to try the meal for two, it was so delightful also an amazing place to go to if you are looking for a nice calm place to have a sit down and eat, the experience was so worth it and it would DEFINITELY see me again!
