Was here with a group for a meal.
I had the mac and cheese it was 18 pounds and came with 2 slices of garlic bread. Sides were extra.
It tasted good but even though it was on the main meal side of the menu i would suggest that portion size was more for toddlers. And priced rather high for what you get.
That being said every one enjoyed the time there and the food they had.

We usually have Sunday lunch at Henry's as the food quality is so good, eating from the Sunday menu the roast beef is excellent with just enough on the plate so as not to over face you, I have tried all the dishes on the menu and could not fault any of them, and the cheese cake is very much worth the reputation it carries no matter what the flavour and there are quite a few to choose from.

The staff are very attentive with youngsters who carry out the serving tasks very well and the older members of the team backing them up with great sense of humour and really friendly chatter and funny banter.

Nothing is to much trouble for any of them to make your meal memorable.

Absolute gem of a place.
Very tasty food. Generous portions...
The seafood was particularly good
(We had a seafood platter starter for 2 which was huge) - definitely could have been a main if you had some chips with it.
Would not hesitate to return if / when I'm back in the area.

Henrys is becoming our regular place for Sunday lunch. Lovely view's over the bay. The pod's are a little different if there's a few of you as you feel like it's just you in the restaurant.. we had soup which was very nice. Roast beef is exceptional just melts in your mouth with veggies and yorkshire pudding.. chicken sizzler which my partner says is brilliant.. pudding is their cheesecake which has been different flavour every time it's absolutely to die for ..
Staff are very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this restaurant.

We had a lovely meal here whilst we were holidaying in the area 😊 I was easily able to book a table via email. Once at the restaurant we were seated with lovely views out over the bay. The staff were all very friendly and the food was so delicious. I had a few of the fish dishes, including the mussels and smoked haddock risotto. They were freshly cooked and piping hot. Absolutely lovely! The beef roast dinner and chicken sizzle plate were also highly recommended by my family. A lot of local delicacies available too!
I would definitely recommend eating here if you're in the area. It was a lovely treat!

Very pleased we managed to get a table at our second attempt. The service was fantastic. Attentive but not over the top and very friendly. We had a problem with one of our mains but this was dealt with very well and the lady in charge seemed really upset that it wasn't right. Other than that the food was very good and nicely presented too. We had lobster to share and it was delicious. Starters and desserts were also excellent. We will definitely return when in the area.

What attracted us to Henry’s was the fact it had 2 vegan mains on the menu. I’m sure Henry’s rating of 4.6 is down to them pleasing their usual clientele and I don’t want to detract as other punters seemed to be quite happy. But it’s not great for vegans and what was delivered wasn’t good.

We ordered the Vegetarian Haggis (which is vegan), the Vegan Sizzling Cajun Spiced Platter, Onion Rings and a some drinks.
The waiter came back a short while after ordering to inform us they don’t sell vegetarian Haggis. We showed him the menu and he said it’s a mistake! It was a bit late having seated us, took our order and delivered drinks. Starving I ordered the Goats Cheese starter and the Vegetable Pancake main …

We asked for it to delivered in one go and to be honest it came out far too quickly - an indicator of what was to come …

The grilled goats cheese wasn’t good. It wasn’t cooked properly. Middle was hard, edges were soft and the change in colour showed it was unevenly cooked and never reached the correct temperature. Shame.

The onion rings were really thin and so greasy we couldn’t eat them as all we could taste was oil. Real shame

The same veg that was on the sizzling platter was also on the pancake but just in a different sauce. The sizzling plate of veg was gloopy which is fine for a sauce but not for a sizzling platter. It had far too much on so it was less sizzling seared veg and more a bubbling congealing thickening sauce. It was spiced though which is good.

The veg pancake was really bland and confused. I expected the pancake on the bottom or on the top but it was neither. The veg sauce was under it, around it and on it. I found the pancake in the end, but because the sauce was bland, it was lost and a mushy pancake which added nothing.

All in all, it was pretty bland, poorly seasoned, poorly cooked and confused meal. Neither of us finished our dishes.

My suggestion would be to remove or rethink these dishes as neither worked or met any reasonable expectation. And either update the menu or ask the staff to inform punters what’s not on the menu.

Would I return? No.

Would I recommend? Not for vegetarians or vegans.

Really sorry.

Fantastic position on the shore.of Loch Ryan. Lovely outdoor patio area with pods if needed from cold winds.
I had Cullen Skink one of my favourite soups and it didn't disappoint. Followed that with Roadt Beef, veggies, a Yorkshire pudding and the most delicious gravy.
Gave in and had a dessert when I spotted Creme Brulee on the menu. It was one of the best Creme Brulees I've ever had
Beautifully appointed venue. Delightful cheery, knowledgeable staff, , first class toikt facilities. Disabled parking. Definitely Italy a not to.be missed restaurant in Stranraer
