A small Victorian station on the Bittern Line, adjacent to the Bure Valley narrow gauge railway.

It boasts a small car park with some bike racks, a ticket machine, and an Amazon Hub locker.

There are plenty of benches on the platforms, but only minimal cover from the elements.

The station was opened by the Great Eastern Railway in 1874 on the line between Norwich and Cromer. A branch towards Aylsham was opened in 1879 and a signal box controlled this junction - it replaced an earlier one which had stood on the station platform. Now redundant, the signal box is protected as a grade II listed building. It is the standard GER Type 7 design which was current from 1885 to the 1920's. Picture shows the box taken from the end of the station's Norwich-bound platform.

It's just a beautiful place to visit. Plenty of free parking and a great range of shops especially Roys of Wroxham. Lovely walks along the river bank and boat hire if you fancy a lazy hazy summer day on the river. Great for dogs as well. Plenty of places to eat to suit all budgets.
