Lovely place for circular walks or you can go off-piste and explore the numerous paths through the woods. Great provision for children with a huge playground and other climbing activities along the trails. Dinosaur Path is a favourite. Nice snack area with good coffee! This park also gives lots of insights into its industrial heritage. Unlimited parking for £3.60 at time of review using PayByPhone app. Love it here. 🦖

Beautiful country park, perfect for walking and cycling. The children’s play area is clean and well-equipped, making it ideal for families. Plenty of parking is available, with gates closing at 5 pm, but there’s additional parking outside.

A great place to walk the dogs. Well drained but muddy in places. A selection of routes and a cafe to have a coffee. When parking be aware the on site carpark closes at 4pm which is when the lock the gates and toilets.

Walk around this park nearly every day with my wife and 1 yr old. We're fortunate enough to live locally so we don't need to drive or pay for parking. The walk itself isn't difficult, has good terrain for all year round and has a few fun bits dotted about for kids. There's also a play area that accommodates all ages of children. Toilets. And a cafe that serves delicious mochas.

Wonderful place. Nice large playground, toilet and café. Tables with a bench and for a picnic. Lots of parking spaces.
Nice park.
Also a small railway museum, the museum is completely made by volunteers. We were given a small 20-minute tour. It was very interesting.

A great place to go for walks with the kids who call it The Uppy-Downy Hills. You can add as many loops to your route as you want and the wooden climbing frames dotted around the site, and the dinosaur bones and eggs make nice stopping points with the family.
You can get great snacks and hot drinks to eat at the many picnic tables. An indoor cafe would make this place even better.

Found off of the main road, it has a car park.
It costs £3.20 for up to 4 hours.
£5.20 up to 8 hours,
£7.20 up to 12 hours.
Blue badge holders still have to pay.
If you drive down the road and past the gate into the field area, be aware the gates are locked at 7pm.
You can pay with cash or card.
There are path ways all around the park and it can be averagely walked around in about an hour if you walk round the edges.
There's a few viewing points over the quarry.
There's a " jungle Parc " area where children can climb through the trees as a purchased activity.
There's a cafe, with toilets, ice creams and a few benches.
Children's play area with quite a few climbing frames .
Just a 5 minute walk away is a small railway museum.
There's a large open green area too to relax in.
The paths are manageable but rocky, so ok for larger wheeled pushchairs..
Dogs allowed and can be off lead if under control.
Great for families!!

A nice place but can very busy at the weekends.
