Nice place. We stayed in Rye while on vacation from the US. I found a lot of quality items and complete essentials. The customer service was not great. I don’t feel like they want to be there? Maybe poor management or low wages, not sure, but it was difficult to find a smile or a simple hello. Good place to buy firewood and/or coal for your fireplace.

4 stars bc of the lack of customer service.

Mix of upmarket (priced accordingly) and Morrisons. Layout is a bit challenging. Vegetarian and vegan ranges are ok but not massive. No queues though.

It makes quite a change to find a supermarket not owned by one of the national companies like Tesco or Morrisons. I wondered how competitive the prices would be but from the limited browsing and buying I did, it seemed to be perfectly reasonable. Staff were very pleasant and whilst there weren't a lot of tills, I didn't have long to wait. Not sure how it would be at busy times however. There is a good size car park with free parking for up to 30 mins or £2 for up to 2 hours which is refunded if spending £10 or more in store. All day parking is available on Sundays for just £2.50. There is also a launderette machine in the car park.

Jempsons is a well laid out store with lots to choose from for a smaller place. The car park can be hectic at times, but that is what you would expect for a smaller car park with lots of traffic. Jempsons stand on Sunday opening times also is another positive for me, and shows they have values that are not dictated solely by money. Oh, and once you try Jempsons cream cakes, you will only come here for them!

I recently fell very ill after buying their Kombucha from Booyah Vitality. It did the opposite of health. There’s reports I’ve found now that stated they have reports of mould in their drinks! I’m concerned this product should be recalled asap otherwise

Excellent range of local food and drink and services. They even have a launderette. Not the cheapest by any means but well worth a visit when in Rye.

Do not carry many basic items such as spinach. Customer toilets not available to customers. Pretty poor not to have basic facilities in a supermarket. Will be avoiding in the future.

Don't trust prices. I checked my receipt and 4 different tubs of Haagen Dazs ice cream labelled as £3 each on the shelf had appeared as £5.15 each on my receipt. This is not the first time I have found the price charged is radically different from the shelf edge label so the store is not managing their shelf edge labels properly.
