Phil helped us find the perfect groom and groomsmen outfits for our wedding in May last year. We were pretty clueless about what we wanted when we came in, but knew we liked the idea of tweed and nothing too formal or traditional. As an added complication, I knew that my dad was giving my husband a kilt from our family tartan as a surprise during the speeches so I needed to stealthily make sure that whatever we chose would work with that too. Phil couldn't have been more helpful. He spent time thinking up a few options and even helped us choose some gorgeous silk pocket squres, that matched the bridesmaid's outfits, to give the groomsmen as thankyou gifts. He made sure everything was tailored to perfection and we were delighted with the final result! AND, believe it or not, it worked out cheaper than hiring the equivalent!

I can't say enough great things about this lovely shop and Phil. I initially sent a question about a dress I had seen in their window in Knutsford, they came back to me quickly and were extremely helpful. I ordered on line, my dress arrived quickly and beautifully packaged. The dress is fantastic ...I love it. Great customer service which is professional yet has a friendly approach. I have since visited the shop, so welcoming and again Phil was on hand to help. It's so lovely to visit this shop, my dress is beautifully made and fantastic quality....I am delighted and can't wait to wear it.

Excellent selection of high quality ladies and gents clothing. We love the shop and its stock. Phil is very knowledgeable and greatly assists in telling you if something looks right or not in you! Highly recommend for something of quality but a little bit different from the mainstream. My new GUARDS gilet is awesome!!

I don't normally write reviews as most places just disappoint but not this one - wow what a find! This is my new favourite and 'go to' place for clothes. Fantastic personal service with a range of clothing that's top notch quality and has a strong local connection but also at a decent price. Phil provides honest and objective feedback and nothing is too much trouble but with absolutely no pressure sales. This sets the benchmark for the retail shopping experience.

Absolutely love the clothes at Lanigan & Hulme. The quality is second to none and I love the fact that everything is manufactured in the UK. Phil has been fantastic, not only did he have some great suits, but he did a first class job on tailoring the jacket, waistcoat and trousers for me, my best man and two groomsmen. I’ll definitely be back.

Great little British boutique store. Had the pleasure of being served by Mr Lanigan himself. I have gone past this store without knowing it sold RM williams boots that I had been looking for so many years. Bought the boots with full assurance and great service. Will definately buy from again. Shame the shop is closing and moving to Knutsford though, although I doubt that will stop me from visiting.

Come on Royal exchange, surely you should place value for a highly rated British boutique store and offer them a palletable rental fee. A steady income is better than losing valued member of the community.

Really lovely experience today at this shop. The owner let us in after closing to help us try and a (very) last minute suit for a wedding tomorrow. He did his absolute best to help us and even made a call to nearby tailors. Amazing customer service, will definitely visit next time I need a suit!
