Lewis & Cooper

Anyone shopping in Northallerton absolutely has to pop in here - I do frequently. Wonderful selection of local food and drinks. A refreshing change from the supermarkets. Sure, they can undercut on price for similar generic products, but if you want local quality...

A pot of tea served charmingly at Lewis and Cooper, after guided to a good window seat in this upstairs tea room, began a first visit which continued to prove I found my Top Notch Tea Room in Northallerton. None of its locally sourced cakes and teas, including the scrummy Fruit Cake, disappointed. And downstairs the Foodhall equally excelled in customer service, product knowledge and cleanliness. So impressed I joined the L&C Loyalty Card scheme... More reason to revisit. Thank you staff for your intelligent, caring and discreet service. An absolute find in Northallerton. I will be back. Sorry no lift or easy access for those with limited movement.

Staff unhelpful and rude, tried to purchase items and a gift box , was told I couldn’t and it needed to be wrapped by staff which would take 30mins to an hour - world gone mad, I’m capable of wrapping my own gifts , the gift box (a paper box £12.99 already - the gift box on sale already wrapped was £80 with about 8 items in !! I’ve used this shop at Christmas for last ten years that will be the last !

We recently purchased both a jar of Lewis andCoopers own brand Dijon style mustard and Horseradish sauce from your Northallerton shop. What a disappointment! As the taste bears no relationship to the original flavours why are they so bland? I did notice on the same shelf you also sold Maille which would have a superior purchase for less!

Wow, what can I say. This shop is packed with items not nomally found in other food shops. Cakes, jams, a vast rage of cheeses and meats, spices, wines and fish. Will take you at lest 30 minutes to wall round and view what Lewis & cooper have to offer. If in the area I highly recommend visiting the shop.

Staff Very welcoming, friendly & helpful Excellent assortment of Unusual Foodstuffs, Equipment Etc. (Could do with another outlet in closer proximity).

It's not how I remember it but still sells all the things I like. Nice deli and good selection of foreign and local cheeses and meats. Wine selection not great but expensive. No German wines that I saw. I lived in a great wine growing region on the Rhine,near the Moselle etc and no one it seems has cottoned onto the fantastic wines you can get in that region. This shop and others just stick to the regular wine places.

Excellent deli/ food shop, though prices have increased considerably.
