2 hour waiting time (apparently that is good) for my father waiting in the ambulance outside the hospital due to not enough beds. Excellent paramedics, nurses mixed (some spend too much time gossiping rather than attending patients). Junior doctors excellent. Lack of qualified doctors. To much reliance on overseas staff. Wards understaffed. Don't answer phone in wards because not enough staff. The NHS isn't fit for purpose.

Just had an unexpected night in West Suffolk hospital after elective surgery. The anesthetic and orthopaedic surgical team including the aftercare and nursing team on F4 have all been amazing. Everyone has shown such passion and professionalism towards their field in healthcare. They have all been truly a real credit to West Suffolk hospital and NHS as a whole. Thank you so much!!

I was taken to the hospital with double pneumonia, temperature of 104C and held in an ambulance for 11hours.
I was then put in a geriatric ward populated by screaming dementia patients for 11 days .
It nearly drove me insane.
When it was time for discharge I was held in the discharge ward for 5 hours only to be told by an obscene obese woman , who stuffed her face for all that time, that I did not qualify for transport even though my name was on the wall for transport.
When I was taken into hospital by ambulance, I had no socks only slippers, no coat, she told me I couldn't be wheel chaired to reception where I could catch a bus. I had double pneumonia for christ's sake and I'm 76 years old.
The whole experience made me vow I'd walk in front of a bus rather than going into that hospital.

My partner had to visit A&E yesterday. Despite being busy, we were well looked after. The doctor who saw us took the time to actually explain and take us through the issues and didn't rush us! The other staff efficiently took samples and dealt with us promptly when it was our turn. It was busy, and patients were stressed, and there were a lot of us. It felt thought that there was a system in place. It took time, but it worked. Thank you, Sister Mary and Dr. James in particular.

I phoned up this hospital on my GP’s recommendation to get an update on my scans. Was rudely told by a lady to hold the line, 1 minute later the call ends. (A typical can’t be bothered attitude). Trying to call multiple times after and the phone call doesn’t go through. Shocking service.

Can't fault the service, was seen quickly, and after 3 days of digging about got to the route of my problem. At the DVT clinic the volunteer Bill was so kind, friendly and helpful. I wish I could remember all the names but there's too many people to thank. Thanks to everyone again

Approximately one year ago, I had pain in my chest and an irregular heart beat. I was taken from Isleham to St Edmunds Hospital by ambulance, had to wait 5 hours before I was seen, stayed in A&E for observation for 7 hours and was then sent home by a junior doctor as there was, according to him, nothing wrong with me. That doctor must have written that in my records as my cardiologist, 10 months later, told me that my records show that there is "nothing wrong with you". Cardiologists have just diagnosed a blockage and a stent will be placed soon. No need to say what my opinion is of the way my case was dealt with by St Edmunds at that time. The word neglect springs to mind.
