Morrisons Petrol Station

Went in for the jet wash. As usual only one was open so I had to queue. It was filthy with rubbish strewn everywhere. The machine worked fine this time, although that is the exception, not the norm. Other than that, it's just another copy and paste petrol station. Nothing remarkable.

It's a lovely little petrol station where you can purchase petrol or in a surprise move, diesel. There is a car wash where you can soak yourself and a vacuum cleaning for removing remains of passengers from your car. Some of the pumps are for cars with fillers on the left and some for cars with fillers on the right. Try not to get confused by this. If in doubt, go for the middle option and fill your car boot up.

Cheapest petrol in the area, easy to use pumps with accurate well kept levers allowing for those even numbers. The fuel is fuel, my bike runs just fine on it with no issues. Staff is casual and easy to talk to. It's my main petrol station, easy to pull into and get out of (good location and maneuvering inside the station) overall a friendly experience with easy and quick fuel pumping. No downsides.

Jet wash is a complete scam! Not much time for your 2 English pounds and there's never any soap in the machine!!

Not that busy on the weekend. It is quick and convenient to buy petrol. The prices as of 2023 are competitive but a bit high in general. They sell few products for vehicles if anyone needs something in an urgent situation. It is opposite a supermarket so this may also be a good location when someone goes shopping.

The machine car wash is very convenient. It is very close to this Chinese takeaway. This Chinese takeaway is very good and has discounts.

Car wash closed yet AGAIN!! So very frustrating when such a lot of customers are wanting to use it to wash the road salt from their vehicles right now. I'm sure others who live locally will agree that this car wash seems to have been out of order far more often than it has been in operation this past 18 months. Firstly, we were told that the engineers were waiting for parts, then it was new brushes to replace the ones that had been on there so long that a very healthy colony of green fluffy moss had taken root on the upper portion of each brush!! It really was a very unsightly scene to behold! Lol. Then, like a bolt from the blue, a brand spanking new car wash was installed, much to everyone delight! Now, just months down the road, we are faced with the dreaded "cone of disfunction" at its entrance, announcing that once more it is out of action! For how long & for what excuse this time round I know not. I couldn't be bothered to even ask! Both jet wash bays were also coned off today, so unsure as to why because the day & nighttime temperatures have been well above freezing for several days now, before anyone tries to use that old chestnut as an excuse! So I thought that whilst I'm here I might as well avail myself of the vacuum & lemon scent spray facilities (no, I kid you not!!). A somewhat new and unusual addition to the car interior grooming facilities at Morissons to be sure! If I thought that this was now going to partially restore my faith in the services here today, then I was very sorely wrong & left disappointed at the very lacklustre performance of this huge, chromed, high-powered machine with added lemons! To coin a phrase, "My Grannie could have sucked a mint humbug better than this excuse for a forecourt vacuum cleaner!" On top of that, down to the last 20 seconds of my £2 4-minute timer, I thought that I would at least get some minor satisfaction from the "switch back and forth feely between vacuum and novel lemon spray hose & gun", only to discover that this was also on the blink, with not a splutter nor drip of it's citrus burst in sight! I left utterly let down and £2 poorer for the experience. It will be a long time before I donate any more money into the bottomless coffers of Morissons PLC and their sorry excuse for a garage forecourt again! Nor will I be frequenting the BP/M&S garage either, who seem to be suffering the same breakdown bugs as Morissons!! At least it wasn't some divot driving into the ruddy car wash archway this time, that shut it down for the best part of the spring & summer before they got that fixed! Can you imagine that conversation with your insurance company!! Lol. Let's hope that they were fully comp and not just F & T!! Sorry for the marathon. I hope that you had a laugh at least!
