This cosy local fish and chips shop is a lovely find. While their focus is on the classic fish and chips, they also offer chicken and other traditional takeaway options for those after a bit of variety. Portions are generous – the large cod is genuinely large, and the chips are served in hearty portions, perfect for satisfying a proper appetite.

The staff have always been friendly and transparent, especially when it comes to waiting times for freshly cooked orders. It’s refreshing to see such honesty and good customer service, even when the food isn’t pre-cooked and ready to go.

The only minor gripe would be their opening hours, which are a bit unpredictable. It seems they’re targeting busier times, which makes sense, but taking a week off during school holidays felt a tad unusual. That said, it’s understandable if they’re managing costs efficiently.

Overall, I’ll definitely be coming back. I love supporting local businesses, and this one truly deserves the custom. The food tastes far better than any mainstream franchise nearby, and it’s well worth spending a few quid here.

Popped in earlier to get a large portion of Fish and Chips....gone up to £4.60....what got me was it was not a large portion, it was literally the last few scoops left, not a large portion, when I am paying nearly a fiver I expect a full portion....oh and the server at the till was surly....no please of thank you....won't be going back....I expect value for money and polite service not surly service

Great fish and chips.

Excellent and friendly staff.

The skate is immense, the burgers are superb and the fried chicken is in a different league.

They’ll even double fry the chips if requested.

Our local chip shop has always given us great food. They sell burgers/fried chicken plus the usual suspects. The wife usually gets plaice which is always cooked fresh. It's worth the small wait as it's not sitting under the heat lamp. The only thing I wish they sold is a kebab.

They don't open on Mondays.

There is a small car park round the back that has 2hrs free parking.

The shop is in a small parade which has a small convenience shop, a boots chemist and a hair dresser's.
