We booked for a 1pm lunch as were told can be very busy, and they were!

Very attentive and friendly staff.

Top quality food, all homemade, with good serving portions.
Good tea and coffee, with a generous size tea pot!

The puddings are fantastic. I can recommend the cornflake tart with custart or ice cream.

There is a little farm shop there and the pricing was very reasonable which resulted in us taking a few items home for another day. (A lot of farm shops I’ve visited can be very, very expensive).

Carparking in a little car park at the front just off the road. It is some what limited, but road parking is possible.

The facilities are modern, clean and kept in good condition.

It’s a really nice place to eat looking out at the ponies in the manège. Ideal for anyone who loves ponies.

Dogs are welcome at the seating outside, there are quit a few places to chose from. Some under cover.

We’ll definitely return.

Can recommend.

£7.40 for two tiny take away coffee in leaky cups that don't work - feel ripped off. They even asked if we wanted large, to which we said yes. At least it tasted decent.

Went here yesterday for sandwiches and coffee as we love both at this place. Ordered beef and horseradish sandwiches which had a meagre amount of filling and had clearly been standing around after being made as the outside of the bread on both was dry , very disappointing to say the least . Coffee was lovely as always . Service was really slow and our waitress forgot teaspoons on both lots of drinks . There were very few customers left by the time we got our food , no idea why it took so long and no one apologised for the wait . You can and have done better !

Lovely place. Well equipped Farm Shop with butchers serving up some great looking meat, a fresh veg section, bread and flour area, and hot food. Try the Scotch egg which is pretty good and slightly different.

Restaurant is very nice with an outside and inside seating area which overlooks the riding school area. Breakfast was very nice albeit a little stingey with the one slice of bacon. Paid an extra £ for the Black pudding too, so for 8.95 the portion was a little one.

Staff are friendly, restaurant is clean selection of food and presentation are excellent.
Car parking is plentiful with a little walk to the restaurant.

Have earmarked the butchers for Christmas Dinner shopping list.

Wife had a full English and it was quite clear some elements had been cooked and sat around for a while, I had eggs florentine and it was nice quite to order. Shop is amazing fruit and veg was some of the best quality I have seen for a while, small but a perfect blend of products.

Lovely place, with friendly staff and great tasting food. I recommend booking as it can get busy later on but we went at an earlier time and was just right.

We will be visiting again 🙂 thank you for a relaxing time.

Wonderful quality food in a superb setting. May 21just been to Oakfield Farm , not been for a while due to the pandemic. Just as nice , food excellent (Steak and Ale Pie) and a really good Flat White Coffee. Will be returning soon. I have not had a chance to return till 24th April today. They have changed the layout inside, and it looks great. Food is still as good. Service excellent in the restaurant. We managed to pull in a visit to their butcher shop. Their meat is really good.

I visited Oakfield Farm Shop for some fresh, local produce—but mainly for duck eggs.

Upon entry, which was clearly marked, plenty of parking space was available. The farm shop and café are through a gate, and hand sanitizer was provided to avoid spreading disease (important in agricultural areas).

The farm shop and café were very well laid out. I thought the interior design was lovely and in keeping with a farming environment—a very welcoming atmosphere.

When entering the shop, I was greeted by both butchers behind the counter, who were absolutely lovely and very knowledgeable about their produce.

There was a lot to offer: fresh produce, meats, condiments, and pastries. I came away with 3 pork belly slices, a sirloin steak, lamb liver, black pudding, Red Leicester cheese, duck eggs, and green beans. The total came to £21, which I thought was excellent value for money. Naturally, this may be cheaper in a supermarket, but the quality is nowhere near the same. I’ve previously tried black pudding and wasn’t a fan, but the butcher behind the counter let me taste his own recipe, and my word, I was blown away—I’m a fan now, even if it’s just Oakfield’s own. I stopped and had a chat with the butchers; as previously mentioned, they were extremely hospitable, and their service gave me no option but to spend more! (I only came in originally for duck eggs!)

I would 100% recommend Oakfield Farm Shop to others—they should be very proud of what they have to offer.

I wouldn’t normally leave such a long review, but they deserve it. I’m a strong believer that locals and holidaymakers should back British farming, and with that, local farm shops and butchers alike.

See attached for my dinner, including the duck eggs and black pudding!

I will 100% be back for more. This is the best place I’ve found in and around Derby.
