Went in for the first time today and was pleasantly surprised at the range of music on offer! As someone that buys cassettes I do have to say that there weren't particularly many interesting ones when I visited, however the ones I did pick up were all 99p, which seems like good value. Good place to easily buy blank cassettes as well!

Came here on a day on in Reading to do some vinyl digging. The place is crammed full of great stuff from all different decades and music styles all at super low prices. I managed to get a whole stack of bargains. Thanks very much to the Scottish chap (sorry I didn’t get your name) who played records I picked out and had a great knowledge of music. If I wasn’t pressed for time I would have spent the whole day there

Reading is a great destination for music shoppers. Sound Machine and The Collectors centre (both in the Harris arcade), both provide enormous volume of knowledgeably curated and reasonably priced selections for the record collector. Oxfam Music is the other spot all diggers visiting the town should hit. A very broad range of stuff and a great atmosphere. Not to be missed.

Great staff and prices. Bought many CDs and LPs from here over the years. Good selection and mix of artists and genres compared to a lot of other oxfam music shops I've been in around the rest of the country.

A wonderful place, truly worth a visit. A couple of warnings however. Firstly, the opening hours are not fixed. It is rather like one of those magical islands that emerge and disappear at irregular intervals. I suggest you ring in advance. Secondly, though most of its inhabitants are reasonably normal you are likely to come across those particular sort of middle-aged men who believe that washing is an affectation. Given this you should allow plenty of time for your visit as a tactical retreat may sometimes be necessary, particularly in the summer. It is also an excellent place to hear conspiracy theories. I still remember with affection the time I heard a complete exposition of the role of the Kennedys in the death of Monroe followed by a vigorous discussion on how many times Dr. Who could regenerate. Thoroughly recommended, not just for the music but also for the unique ambience.
